2024-09-29 | Tom | I just downloaded it but wished I didn't. It's slow to open. And when it does the first screen that shows is a pay $15/month. After closing the $15 a month screen, another ad opens wanting to sell a singing picture app. The only way to close the singing picture ad is to shut down the whole simple camera app. Can you imagine the frustration if a user needed to take a fast photo.? It's insulting to me to ask for 15 a month for a camera app. $180 for a year is more than. I paid for my phone.
2024-04-11 | isaak | Sell out. Used to be great free and open source now it's none of those things if you want to use it in any capacity. Full of adds begging you to buy the premium addition that doesn't need to exist since it never did before avoid this at all costs. A long with the rest of the simple line of apps they are all the same. Simplely awfull. Not to mention data collection the very point of this app along with the rest of the simple suit is that they never connected to the internet.
2024-03-21 | Alisha Beck | Used to be great, now ads make it unusable. I didn't have any problems for years. Now adds play everytime I open, when I try to close the ad, app crashes and I have to restart. I looked into paying to remove ads, but $15 per WEEK is highway robbery. $60 per month for a camera app is rediculous. I will now be searching for a new app to shoot and save compressed images. (found it!) The point of a SIMPLE camera is to not have tons of features. $15/WEEK is a scam. My default app does more for free.
2024-03-11 | Michael H. | Used to be good for the basics, now '24 ads sellout. Check the age of the reviews, if '23 or prior, fine. But '24 sellout to ads has both blocked app even opening or just crashing. $15 per WEEK for no ads is completely insane if no more tools- this is NOT Photoshop - for an app that really only allows resolution changes, not even shutter/priority +/- changes for a Real camera user like me. Might try again in couple of months to see if it has improved. There are plenty of other free apps to try!
2024-03-07 | Werner Fismer | Used to be great, now enshittified. This was the perfect app for taking quick photos as notes, especially while shopping. All of a sudden the developers have added forced full-screen video ads and a subscription service. I would've paid for a pro version like their other apps but there only a subscription option. Not everything needs to be a subscription, it's disgusting honestly.
2024-01-23 | Miss Swirley | Very basic camera (clue's in the name!) but ideal for my needs. My phone was constantly getting full from photos unless I was disciplined enough to use a photo compression app & delete originals, which I wasn't! This app is great because I can set the compression from anything from 100 to 50%. Sony camera on auto produced a 2mb photo. This on 100% was 3.8mb. 65% is decent quality for pics of notes etc & it comes out at 396kb. Will use this every time I need a snapshot. No more wasted space!
2023-11-14 | Walks | I got a used Pixel 5 from my stepdad, and was at first overjoyed with the camera-- until I realized that it had automatic built-in AI that ruins the pictures after I take them, with no option to turn off the AI. That's awesome made the picture file size so absurdly massive I couldn't transfer them anywhere. This camera app does exactly what it needs to do, and does it perfectly, without ruining my photos with AI. Thank you for making this!
2023-10-28 | Mark A. Stuart | So close! Writing in hopes of solving the issue I have-although I shoot photo and video landscape it often records portrait. Went though all the settings. Doesn't do this on the built in phone app. Otherwise it's great especailly the high quality with low filesize. If not for this, I'd give it a 5 star review and if anyone can solve this, I will.
2023-05-09 | Joseph Lieberman | Thank You for your prompt responsiveness.I do appreciate that the developer is activley involved to respond when issues are noted and now the issue of note has been fixed, it was camera timer no disable option and active by default. Now i have no hinderance in use of this simple camers which has the important benefit of functioning even without intrusive permissions. only one function i would be pleased to see in the future updates, it would be a slide interface to adjust image contrast.
2023-04-14 | Ryan Carson | Wow it worked! I am in between phones right now. My good one doesn't have service just Wifi. Wanted to take a picture of the good ones screen to save information and at least two other apps couldn't even focus in so it could be read. This app no problem. Now it can get into the CIA and take pictures of documents spying on the enemy like James Bond. LoL |
