2024-11-26 | David Cerny | Extremely clunky and buggy when trying to use it in offline environments, such as planes, trains, or subways. Seems to require an Internet connection to do stuff even for books you've downloaded offline. I've seen things fail to load that are downloaded, or that load but look like wingdings font. Really frustrating experience.
2024-11-22 | pawan mishra | Recent update has made this app unusable. Something to do with using phones default display setting is causing the app to go back and forth between light and dark mode. Another issue the lag. Searching and opening book takes a while and often the app opens up incorrect or previously opened book.
2024-11-19 | Tyler Durden | Painful UI experience. Can't download Livestream recordings which is terrible for those of us that spend time on a plane or traveling with unreliable network connections and want to watch sessions. Random log outs. Live session recording player has no concept of checkpoints so one wrong UI gesture and you're either reset or totally out of the session. Why is video timing in different units desktop vs mobile? Amazingly frustrating. Optimize for mobile please
2024-11-15 | Patrick Schultz | A lot of great books in here, but: app often changes orientation to landscape, even with auto-rotate off, making reading on a phone screen difficult. Also, books frequently crash i.e. all text disappears and need to re-start the app. This makes reading really difficult/not fun. These issues have persistent for a long time now
2024-10-22 | Krishnaprasad B | something is broken in the latest version. virtually unusable. every time I change screens and come back to the app, it doesn't render any content from the book that I have open. I need to quit the book and launch it again. please fix and test your latest version before unleashing it on your users
2024-07-03 | Danielle Milano | Every book I need is on this site (so far, haven't even had to use the library yet). You can create playlists of all the books you need for class, highlight important concepts, skip to the assigned reading material, etc. My phone will even read highlighted texts out loud. So far, very good.
2024-03-15 | Daniel Kao | it has gotten better over the past months. However, it's still far from "good" and it's ashamed for a publisher that's focus on technology. One idea could be open source the reader and have the community improve it. I am sure this will be attracted to many of your subscribers (who paid a lot for poor services). This also shows respect to all the writers. Just checked the reviews and with so many great suggestions, not much actions have been taken. It's ashamed!
2024-02-21 | Mike Zou | When reading a book in the pagination mode, I have to swipe to the right to turn to a new page. This is not that convenient and in lower quality devices like Amazon Kindle Tablet, it is even harder to swipe. Is it possible to enable "press to turn page" as an option? I would like to only press the right edge of the screen to turn a page. This feature is supported in most reading apps including the Kindle app. This will make the reading experience much easier.
2024-02-13 | M M | The app is great. It would be great if it the developers would add the read aloud feature for textbooks, like amazon books. There are workarounds, but having that option in the app would be great. Also, search results filter keep resetting every time you tap on a book. If it's not the material you are looking for and go back to results, it makes you start the search all over again.
2024-01-24 | Crazrwire999 Ortiz | I love the content that Oreilly has and I have used this app for years. Now the problem with this app that I have had for months is that whenever you open any ebook or audio book it takes about 1 min just to load up. Then after you have been reading something for 3-5 mins the app keeps saying it crashed and you have to repeat this process. I have redownloaded the app, made sure to erase cache, made sure to keep my phone updated and even spent time saving space on my internal storage. |
