2024-12-02 | stefano papazian | UPDATE: I was promptly contacted by customer support, which contacted the development team and released a new version which fixed the bug. Thanks! ### I am testing the Papers App on my phone (Android) but the full screen layout is too big and not working, I cannot access icons and buttons and settings because outside of the touch screen range or overlapping with the top screen notifications. Device: Xiaomi 14 (2024) Android version: 15
2024-11-19 | Andrea Zanzi | The android app was usable, now is total garbage. Can't even properly match to the screen a common device
2024-07-24 | Tim Brearly | UPDATED: Inporting of new references found in a mobile browser (similar to the desktop extension) is not functional. This is a big pain, please prioritize in development!
2023-04-28 | Nabil Azhar | Poorly designed and extremely buggy. Only adds papers about 10% of the time when I what's a PDF to the app. That's the whole purpose for it's existence! It should at least be able to do that much without messing up
2023-04-15 | Filip Kyslík | I changed my references manager when Mendeley stopped supporting their android app. This is far better than Mendeley. Better PDF management and it has very handy tools - (such as article metric inside the app itself) plus you can immediately see who already cited this paper and so much more. 100% recommend. The only downside is sometimes buggy MSWord citation extension and I couldn't bring the Google docs citation extension to life. It is payed but in exchange, you get some high quality stuff.
2022-03-01 | Brian | I've thoroughly enjoyed this app; I also use it on my iPad and Mac as well. The syncing and integration is super useful. The only thing I find lacking is the S-pen functionality. I find that the latency is higher than other apps that allow for annotations, though I don't notice this on my iPad. Improving this would remove my only major gripe with the app. For reference, I use a Note 20 Ultra.
2022-02-13 | Colin Hammond | The search function is abysmal. Doesnt even find an article with a PMID. This app needs some serious bug fixes. Especially since you have to pay for the readcube service these days. All I want is to be able to add papers I find on twitter etc to readcube to read the following day on my computer when I am at Uni - with the journal access rights.
2021-10-18 | Minh-Anh Huynh | I like ReadCube Papers but the mobile Android experience is a disaster. Reading is cool, the zooming feature works. But when you want to highlight from a text, going down some lines, your realize you can't even see the words hidden behind the highlight menu. Embarrassing. More importantly it's a nightmare to actually import papers manually either from a website or manually from a pdf. I can't believe the desktop app is so good and the mobile one is miserable. It's not self sufficient in a pinch
2021-10-02 | Chris Awai | Updated: Huge improvements in UI and features over previous versions. Thank you for the continued development and not abandoning your mobile-first users. Old: Importing references via the "share with" button just shows the library instead of importing the reference. This makes the app rather useless and inferior to it's competitors. Update: People have been complaining about this for 1.5 years at least now. Please enable import from url (as in desktop) and not only from pdf.
2020-10-14 | 陈铭 | It seems that I can't find a button to open pdf files downloaded from your server in another app. I use an e-ink pdf reader and find that the reading experience is not well compatible enough for my reader. |
