User reviews
HotStock is praised for its timely stock alerts and ability to help users secure high-demand items at retail prices, often combating scalpers effectively. The app features an easy-to-use interface and good customer support. However, the autobuy feature on Android has limitations requiring the phone screen to stay awake and sometimes failing to complete purchases automatically, frustrating users. Additionally, the app displays many ads and frequent subscription upgrade prompts, impacting user experience negatively. Despite cons, many find the premium subscription worthwhile for accessing advanced features.
Pros
- Alerts for stock availability are fast and reliable for tracking hard-to-get items.
- The app has helped users successfully purchase high-demand items at retail price, avoiding scalpers.
- Customer service is responsive and helpful.
- The app is easy to use with a straightforward and user-friendly interface.
- The premium subscription with autobuy feature can increase chances of securing items, especially after following setup instructions carefully.
Cons
- The autobuy feature requires the device screen to stay unlocked for extended periods, which is inconvenient and impractical on some Android devices.
- Autobuy does not always work as expected, often requiring manual intervention to complete purchases.
- Android version of autobuy is less effective or lacking compared to iOS; some users consider it unreliable or a scam.
- The app contains a large number of ads which can detract from user experience.
- The app prompts frequent subscription upgrade notices and contains intrusive banners in the free version, which some users find annoying.

Was able to get a PNY 5080 from Walmart thinks to this app! Notifications come it very fast if you set it up correctly. There are some battery setting changes you need to make to get the best performance, it's explained in the app, in your "my alerts" section how to get fast notifications. I did pay for the subscription, very worth it in my opinion. I attempted the auto buy feature for best buy, but they just sold out so fast it wasn't feasible.

Autobuy sucks. Alerts are amazing. It took me 3 weeks of failed attempts to get my item, but i did finally get it. Autobuy isn't very compatible with an android because you can't keep your screen awake more than 10 minutes. It's a dumb setup to require that for it to work. It's also not really "autobuy" when you're still required to checkout manually. I recommend this app for the alerts and the customer service was exceptional, but i dont recommend the autobuy.
