2024-12-15 | Toby Coulter | They make this app far to complex and over engineered. To many subcategories when making budgets and takes far too long to delete them. Needs more simplicity!
2024-11-29 | Samuel Tieu | Wow the pocketsmith website is fantastic even on a mobile browser. This is app is unfortunately absolutely useless, you are better off login into your web browser on your phone. Really disappointed
2024-09-09 | Britain W | Most things work fine. Could use some polishing in areas, especially with ease of use and more options to chart certain variables against others.
2024-05-29 | Doug M | The pocketsmith service is outstanding. The app is only meant to sit alongside the desktop service not replace it, but I find it does all I need day to day like assigning transactions, checking in on the dashboard etc.
2024-03-29 | Fiona O'Leary-Adriaanse | Aside from agreeing with the frustrations of other reviewers, I'm finding the app just about useless because I can't adjust the font size, so it's not all showing. The program itself is OK, but very convoluted if you are paying off debts (credit cards) and trying to plan ahead. I've tried just about all the others, but am going back to a spreadsheet. V disappointing.
2023-09-12 | Steve Fossey | Edit after a year: from 2 stars to 1. Major price hike with no real added value, and the program still is nowhere near up to Quicken's old self-hosted personal finance tool. Another SAAS gets you in then jacks the price with a bunch of BS about adding immense value by (something not very useful). The workflows don't really work that well and transfers are a mess. With the 30% discount granted because bank uploads in Canada don't work it was barely ok, but now it's more than MS365 family plan...
2023-08-18 | Reatha Kenny | Tracking finances is very important to me and I have tried a lot of different apps. This is by far the best I have ever used. I imported 2yrs worth of data from 14 accounts and had it budgeted and categorised in an afternoon. Love that you can set rules to automatically categorise transactions on sync. The dashboards are excellent. The only thing is the phone app is very limited. It'd be great to be able to customise the dashboard there as well. A minor quibble though considering. Superb!
2023-04-20 | Liam Cusack | After using PocketSmith for the past 6 months, I can confidently say that it's one of the best budgeting apps I've ever used. The teams customer service and community support is fantastic. I've learned so much about my financial status through PocketSmith. While the app may have limited features, users can access the full range of features by using a browser on mobile. Overall, I highly recommend PocketSmith to anyone looking for an affordable and efficient budgeting app.
2023-03-09 | Thomas Banks | More read-only than I would like. Have to configure everything on the browser version; can't edit anything from the app. The budget window on the app is fixed to one month when I'd rather use fortnights. The whole package is a bit arcane with a high learning curve, but it is pretty decent once you figure it out. Edit reply: that's fine, but being able to adjust the budget view within the app would be nice. That's just a view
2022-12-14 | Grace P. | Free version of app/ website is excessively impracticable due to the need to manually import transactions. There's otherwise nothing wrong with the programs from a functionality or features standpoint (at least in my experience). I actually think it's good, but paying $100+ a year for an app focused on financial management would be excessive and a bit ironic. Manual importation renders it a bit pointless unless you only care about general long-term trends. Need real-time awareness of spending. |
