If the app isn't crashing for maintenance, it will as for credentials everytime you login... Even when you say "remember me" and fingerprint login.... It will not. Would like to see a better/more cash back offers other than no name brands that are boutique. | |
2024-09-23 | Matt Farmer | I signed up for Petal when they were a great card for building your credit and didn't have any fees. Now they changed to something called "Petal Rise" and charge $8 a month without any explanation as to why. I've had my card for 7 or 8 years and have never missed a payment and have a credit score of 743. But now anytime I use the card my credit score goes down. So I've completed stopped using it which makes it useless. I'm just focused on paying it off so I can cancel the card. | |
2024-06-05 | Rachel W | Initially, my experience was positive. The card was easy to set up and use and making payments was simple. Then it went from a no annual fee card to $8 a month. It wasn't what I agreed on, but since I can't pay the balance in full, I figured I'd make my payments and set the card aside, then once paid off I just close the account. Because they are treating this $8 fee as a charge and not a fee per se, it doesn't count towards the minimum payment. Very shady. Time to make some legal calls... | |

I have not had luck getting rid of the Asian characters all over the app. I looked in settings, I forced an update, and it's just not going away. It's hard to navigate the app if parts of it aren't in my language. And the monthly fee is ridiculous. Bummer. Don't let a company that charges you interest take MORE money on top! | |
2023-08-12 | Nick Az | If I could give zero stars I would.the app itself is an okay credit card app..The heart of the app is bleak.One of the main perks of the petal card is to pay on time six months in a row and get a increased spending limit. I was well on my way. However, I was robbed, at gunpoint and locked out of all my accounts. All other apps granted me amnesty. However, Petal eliminated my on time payment streak and has forced me to start over from 0 months. Demoralizing. Discouraging. Disgusting. | |
2023-07-08 | Luis Gutierrez | WORST CREDIT CARD EVER, STAY AWAY!!!! As many have posted similar experiences (can also be found on Reddit's /PetalCard}. I have over 700 FICO, Good Income & the Petal 2 with a good credit line. Just like that, they switched me to Petal 1 Rise (kept my limit} but are now telling I have to pay $8/mo or close my account. No reason given other than they've made changes. If you accept that's close to a $100/yr if you close it you need to get another card to replace existing credit line. | |
2023-06-24 | Mishal Mustaque | Worst credit card I've ever had. Was pretty good when I first got it...but that's before I actually had to deal with customer service. Plus they're now forcing grandfathered customers to either close account or pay up (for a credit card that most definitely isn't premium). All in all, this is a horrible place to get a card from, value is terrible, and good luck trying to have them back you up if you ever have to dispute any charges. | |

Then without warning they decided to tell me my card was changing and that they would start charging me a monthly fee and a fee per transaction. The options were to do that or close my account. No reasoning or alternatives given. I also had trouble using the card at many retailers and had transactions declined for no reason at establishments I had previously been able to use it at. I closed the acct asap & use another as my primary. 0/10 do not recommend. | |

But now, myself and most of the customer base are being downgraded with massive annual fees with no warning or explanation for this penalization. With this being my longest running line of credit I have 0 interest in closing my account but I'll be forced to if they intend to follow through on this change of contract. 4 years of loyal business for this?? | |
2023-06-15 | Joshua Smith | Total scam, have great credit and now they want to change my account to one that charges fees. Only option to 'opt out' is to cancel my account. Canceled my account immediately after applying for, and being approved for, another card that has better benefits and no fees. Don't bother with Petal, theyre probably insolvent as a company and need to start charging fees to stay afloat. Hope they go bankrupt <3 |
