2024-10-02 | Renee Kleiner | Won't work at all anymore. Worked fine a couple months ago, but since an outage a while ago I can't use it at all anymore. 😞
2024-09-29 | Samuel | -Lacks basic QOL features such as the ability to see the date of a video upload (infuriating when you're trying to find a specific video and thumbnails are unreliable) -Player will often randomly pause, play over itself, crash, etc. -No settings menu in-app - Seriously? Even if these issues didn't exist, this app is so underdeveloped and neglected, and it hasn't been updated in over a year. Did they fire their dev team or something?
2023-11-29 | Jen Evans | Offline videos didn't work. First, I had to have the app open while downloading the videos, which is annoying. Then, when I went to play the videos through the "offline videos" section of the app, I got a loading screen for a while and then "connection error."
2023-11-13 | Marko Lepik | It logs in an plays, but unfortunately the screen becomes black when going to landscape for full-screen video. Not a problem with any other app, nor with Panopto web. The bonus point of the app is background play, which can be problematic on web mobile.
2023-11-01 | Virginia Jordan | This app is incredibly buggy, poorly organized, and restarts certain videos when you close the app, but not others. This is the only app my school posts lectures on and it's nigh unusable. Update: there has been no improvement to the UI or functionality. I wish I wasn't forced to use this.
2023-08-07 | Blake Willett | Will freeze periodically, and refuse to start again, even on strong wifi. Every video stops around the same place. Annoyed I can't watch lectures on mobile.
2023-03-16 | Ben Mould | Glorified web app that doesn't allow me to watch Panopto videos (only accessible by link) on the app whatsoever, not even by opening a link in the Panopto app. Set your browser to desktop mode and edit Embed.aspx to Viewer.aspx each time, and you'll have a better experience on Firefox web browser than this app can provide at it's best, in my biased, personal experience.
2022-09-26 | Noah Lichlyter | Seems to be getting worse again. Play/ pause with Bluetooth headphones is pretty janky, and the lecture will start playing over itself when I try to pause (using Galaxy buds +). It's hard to find your way to the lectures for your specific classes and view them in chronological order, but that might be partly my University's fault and how they organize their files. Now the app has taken to freezing on the Panopto logo at startup. Useful when it works though. Desktop website is better experience.
2022-09-12 | Al | Mobile app doesn't allow to switch camera views. Same with mobile web version. So I get to stare at a black screen instead of the actual presentation.
2022-05-12 | Ayano Rexer | I can't even paste a link if the videos won't show up. All the videos I can watch in browser I can't watch here. Sometimes this thing is useless. |
