From the best to the worst. This app used to be the perfect recipe app. I pay for a NYT subscription primarily because of this app and service. With the latest update, the entire recipe page is covered in videos/reels/shorts - whatever you want to call them. It's a recipe app. I want to access the recipes, not waste time and space scrolling through video after video. Make the videos optional or remove them from the recipe screen altogether - this will be the the reason I switch from nyt cooking
No category catelog available. Search is insufficient. Groceries lists don't operate as they should. No dark mode (my eyes hurt). Two of the four tabs are useless the other two could use and entire redo. There are ads everywhere, in a payed service! Every time you back out of a recipe it brings you back to the top of the page instead of your former position. ------ Ultimately there's NO REASON TO USE NYT over other free services. Just use Food Network, better recipes and none of this^
This is my kitchen go-to, and it definitely has made me a more confident cook. Literally thousands of recipes, so easy to browse, navigate, and review other users' opinions of each one. TOO many awesome features to list here (including conversion of ingredient list to shopping list) BUT, you have to be a New York Times subscriber (which I am) to access them all...
