Blocks quick sharing between Samsung phone and tablet. makes visual voicemail not work, causes problems with app updates, causing them to stall out until I turn it off. if something won't download or update or share it's probably this VPN. Does your update no longer block ads like the previous version? Now i get pop-ups and ad banners all the time , as before, nord did an excellent job blocking this out. 2024-11-19 | William | I'm having a very weird issue all of a sudden. I've used Nord for years and all of a sudden when I turn on my VPN, my phone seems to be ignoring my home WiFi connection. The connection strength is shown as excellent, I haven't changed any settings, and my data use is through the roof and Google Fi says it's all from Nord VPN. I used to use a custom DNS with dnsforge.de but I'm not super network savvy. Could this have been causing the issue? I've gone back to default DNS since noticing my data. | |

Also, Etsy will detect the country you're connected to, change the currency presented in its app, and then it's quite difficult to get it switched back. | |

But they take advantage of that by bombarding you with promotional ads via app notification. Every day I get 2-4 notifications about promotional pricing (I already signed up for a year), dedicated IP, whatever else they want more money for. And you can't opt to turn them off without ignoring the entire app. Pretty shady really, definitely not re-upping or telling anyone to subscribe. | |
2024-11-02 | Spectre 069 | VERY slow lately. Used to be a great VPN service. Recently (last 6 months or so), the service has gotten so slow that it's almost unusable. I have a gig up & down on fiber, so there should be no excuses. If I turn Nord VPN off, i get ~ 700MB. When I turn it back on, I'm lucky to get 200MB. I've tested multiple times over the last few months on several routers, modems, computers, phones... always the same. I've called support, and they tell me they're working on it. I've never heard back. FAIL! | |

Only when I pause service and then resume do I start getting internet again, and only for a few minutes. Probably going to look elsewhere for VPN services now that Nord is going downhill. Also doing much worse with major sites like Amazon. Nord servers are being blocked and not recovering. Finally, they just added a notification for needing to log into networks. And each time you clear the notification, it comes right back again. This service is going downhill. | |
2024-10-04 | J Kim | Watch your bank statements at the time of renewal! I've been a loyal user for many years now, but their recent deceptive practices need to be investigated. Nord recently charged me $234 dollars for an ANNUAL subscription! This is criminal as this isn't even listed as being an option on their pricing plans. Upon requesting a refund, they said if I would keep my subscription that they would provide me with an additional 18 months of service for 'free'. Folks you have 30 days to catch them. |
