2024-10-15 | Nathan Parrish | For the most part this has been very useful. There are some functions that are glaringly missing. I can set a bedtime but not a start time. To prevent use of the device before school or other activities I have to disable use completely and enable it later. This is a basic function of scheduling. In fact, I would love to be able to create multiple windows of time for use in one or multiple days. More scheduling ability would be epic in terms of usability.
2024-10-05 | Joshua Krady | Overall the features are great, and I love keeping track of time spent and on what games. Although, I would love the ability to add more than 3 switches as I have a regular switch hooked up to the TV and an OLED and Lite for handheld and travel. But I'll be giving my son his own Switch for Christmas and I won't be able to add a 4th console... 😔
2024-09-10 | Robert Overton | Really my only gripe is that it's hard to do any sort of bonus time for my son. It's super easy to set the weekly schedule for daily play time and bed time. But if he's finished his chores and I want to add some time I have to go in and change that days schedule and then remember to change it back later. Not the end of the world, but it would be nice if there was something like a '30 minute bonus time' button.
2024-08-30 | Erika Do | Really bare bones controls. You can set hourly limits on a console, and you can set an alarm for bedtime, and you can see a general idea of how much of each game was played each day, but that's it. It's unclear how well these settings work. For example, I set bedtime at 8pm, but when I look at the time played, it has red text saying the game was played past the set time. It doesn't say when the hours happened, so I can't know if she went over by five seconds or somehow kept playing for an hour.
2023-06-17 | Crystal Y | Great but stopped working recently. It's showing error to connect to the console. Updates in the time restriction doesn't apply even tho we are connected on wifi. It doesn't detect the game is playing. I have to manually sync from console which this shouldn't be a kid's job. If this was working, there's no way to apply an exception for a special day (holiday with no school). I would have to update in the app then change it again for next week. I didn't want to temp disable for the whole day.
2023-06-05 | Brandon Bronaugh | It's fine. I appreciate that the functions it has actually work well. Seems like apps for dedicated hardware devices tend to be pretty bad (looking at you, ember mug), but this one works well. I wish there were more control options, such as adjusting options per user and locking users with a PIN (so someone can't play on a sibling's or parent's profile). Also, the recap/summary screens are confusing to navigate.
2023-05-15 | Chris Rhodes | Very nice, optional soft limits. Pops up a notice on the switch stating how far over the time limit it is. Gives a warning before the limit runs out. You can turn it off for the day. Having used other "parental controls" apps for different devices, this one hits the sweet spot, and is actually usable. Oh, and gives updated times for different users. Super!
2023-04-26 | Richard Uruchurtu | Works pretty well but missing some key functions that are needed for controlling screen time. The ability to set limited time window per day would be ideal because 6:00 a.m. is too early, but you can't do anything during the morning hours. Also the ability to force shut down in situations where you can't wait for the timer. As others have mentioned bonus time would also be good so you don't have to worry about changing the time back later.
2022-12-04 | Christopher Galan | This app works great for setting a time limit for my kid's switches, HOWEVER, I wish there was an option to add bonus time to their limit for the day. I don't want to have to always change limits. Bonus time works great for rewarding them for chores and other things. I also wish I was able to select a time for the switch to unlock in the morning, I don't like it being automatically unlocked at 6 a.m..
2022-06-26 | Adrian Jelley | Great overall, but I wish it had a few more features. I use this app on 2 different switches and I love the ability to set time limits, and game ratings. I also enjoy the monthly summary of what was played. That said, I wish the app had a "lock now" feature, or a way to extend play time without having to change the daily schedule. It would also be fantastic if it had a "find my switch" option, where it would cause the switch to play a sound when activated. |
