2022-12-12 | Flupke von Floppenstein | Still buggy. Also, somewhere in last months having more then 1 account requires the premium version, without any announcement?! This and more settings are only paid now. But it's totally impossible to find out what you have to pay for premium. If I try to buy, I have to agree without seeing the actual costs. Really weird, don't understand why Play Store is allowing this. Bad.
2022-10-30 | Corvier Fairburn | It could use some work to fix the hangs and freezes, not every tweet shows up on my timeline, but I would have taken Albatross over the excessive amount of garbage the official Twitter app is pushing with promoted tweets in followed threads. At least this application works compared to the rest of the ones I've tried or looked at. Unfortunately, I've had to uninstall the application as it doesn't recognize when NSFW images are marked as sensitive.
2022-09-10 | Philipp M | I like how its minimal. I dont like that it has lots of bugs. Uploading photos doesn't work, viewing tweet replies takes ages to load / gets stuck, and when it does load, it sometimes shows the parent tweet instead of the reply, which is very frustrating. I dont understand how these very basic features arent working.
2022-09-10 | Cody Licari | Functional, but not as customisable as I'd hoped. The cards don't scale images to size in previews. They are either cropped showing sometimes 10% of an image, or if you have the image fit, it is just a tiny preview. Please just stop making the tweets with images a static size, let it scale with image size. Additionally, the video previews and overall quality leave much to be desired.
2022-04-11 | Pet Lave | A good client for twitter because its free and no ads. Ui is a little clunky and there are no notifications for messages or mentions, you have to go into a menu and manually enter those sections to read them. edit: after months of use I have found it makes my screen go black after i post and i have to hit the home button several times to get out of it. It also looses connection to Twitter servers after browsing 30 - 50 posts and i start getting errors that posts failed to load.
2022-02-18 | Arthur Domino | Pretty good overall, lots of customization options and gets rid of a lot of clutter compared to the twitter android app. Two things I'd really like to see: 1. ability to disable pull-to-refresh on the home timeline 2. instead of or in addition to swiping up to view tweets on a person's profile, view tweets by tapping on the bottom bar buttons
2021-12-09 | Raptor980 | It's an app that shows a lot of promise, though there are some things missing from the original Twitter app that have me switch between the two pretty often. I follow accounts in many languages, and the translate tweet button (although not perfect) lets me understand Spanish, French, German, etc., tweets right there in the app. Instead for Albatross, I have to jump to Google Translate's website to then have to go back to Albatross, and do it again and again for other tweets. I'd rate 3-4 stars.
2021-07-01 | daniel anderson | I like it, but I wish it was easier to access my lists. The official app does this better I think. It would help if I could even just create a shortcut to the list of my choice. Also, i think the UI is inconsistent. Having a (+) in the lists view doesn't add content, but prompts me to search, but the search doesn't actually seem to do anything useful. It just lists posts from what seems to be random people.
2021-05-03 | Matthew | I was really torn on this, but at the end of the day, if just using the mobile website is more convenient than the app, what's the point? It has some great features, but without even a basic search functionality and a home timeline that reloads (and jumps all the way to the top) every time you go to a different tab then go back, it's just too frustrating to use. Hope this review helps the devs make improvements because this app has potential and is better than some others but just isn't there.
2021-03-09 | bobdaduck | Almost perfect for what I was looking for (twitter but not taking 800mb of space on my 16gb max phone)- its lightweight, clean interface, everything is perfect, but it seems to be lacking (or I just can't find) groupchat functionality! I will probably keep using the app but I really need the direct messages to work to talk to my friends! There's a little bugginess around menu transitions in direct messages etc also, but I think it will continue to improve. Edit: Thanks for responding dev- very sad to know twitter doesn't allow groupchats for 3rd parties, but the app seems good enough with everything else to keep |
