2024-11-01 | Jesse | I love Newsgaurd in general and the app is a convenient way to look up ratings, I just wish there was some type of better integration. Like if I'm using my Facebook app, it would be cool to see the inline ratings like the browser extension does when I Google stuff.
2024-08-16 | Adam Yaksich | Don't use this app. It does not provide balanced news coverage. Allows access to very controversially charged topics with a radical left slant. Not appropriate especially for young readers. Microsoft should be ashamed of their association with this company.
2023-08-06 | Ian Slater | Was impressed with this in a free trial with Microsoft but can't get the Android version to work at all: no instructions. Try to sign in, says I already am but doesn't seem to do anything! I miss it.
2023-02-03 | Thomas Calabria | Horrible app. Buggy and crashes a ton. Only shows CNN and a few other news, they are missing way too many. Would not recommend at all.
2022-09-12 | Sean Allard | Here we are! The official ministry of truth app straight ahead from 1984 novel! This app is itself a disinformation tool of the Deep State! FY! Uninstalled as fast as possible! Rating: 1 because it is impossible to give zero or minus 5...
2022-08-25 | Richard “Rick” Neill | Unfortunately a useless app without a paid subscription. Not able to evaluate any further. Should mention subscription cost in description so people don't waste time downloading it.
2022-05-08 | Ethan Fay | decent app but I wish I could see the ratings of any news site that I browse in chrome, and have easy access to ratings via a floating access button or a persistent notification in the notification bar.
2022-01-16 | Aqeel Khan | Reason for 1 ⭐. I was not able to to next step at the very beginning. There's no option to set up an account via my private email. It's even more important for me not to use Apple, Google or Facebook especially if I decide to pay for it. So fix this glitch and I would be delighted to subscribe and once I'm satisfied with what NewsGuard claims it does, rating may go up.
2021-12-25 | Michael Garbe | The service is useful and helps identifying questionable practices in the news sector, but the notification feature warning you about bad pages is not working reliably.
2021-09-05 | Sintrias | It requires a subscription of about 3 USD. It's not too expensive, but the app's financial model could probably be better. Instead, use ads in a small section of it and have a way to remove them with a subscription. The subscription could also include some advanced tools where as the free version would just have the basic functionality. Most of the app's criticism seems to be this. |
