2024-12-02 | Bev Collins (Imbalaska) | The Australian has a balanced view of the latest news. The journalists report the news as news and opinion pieces are noted as that.
2024-11-22 | robyn menghetti | I have keep searching for The Front, after I accidentally remove it from favourites by selecting it thinking it will take me there but it disappears. So very frustrating
2024-11-16 | Gary Delport | Videos don't auto load; the app closes when pressing play. Can't highlight words for auto definition or web search, like other apps.
2024-11-01 | Michael Pope | Do you guys even test your app? Embedded graphics and videos are a disaster. Scrolling down past them either stalls or takes you to another story. Fix it!
2024-10-24 | Ian McGillivray | The sideways scrolling is really annoying. The only time I use it is to get back to the article I was reading before accidentally scrolling sideways.
2024-10-22 | Michael Levenston | Can't leave comments on the app, only browser. Also dislike the auto sound-on for random articles.
2024-10-19 | Greg Fisher | I am unable to read previously downloaded copies of the paper when I am in remote locations and out of network range. The App appears to be trying to verify my subscription as it is stuck on a page about subscriptions. Big flaw. This is not an issue in other news media apps as downloaded copies of newspaper are saved as PDFs. PS: if you can't read the downloaded paper then App is a zero star. Time to look for alternative subscription service
2024-10-16 | Tom Himstedt | It's reasonable. Randomly returns you to either the front page or the article you were reading. Main gripe is why are videos and audio now auto playing?? If I wanted video I would watch YouTube. I want to read a paper, without some random audio from an article three below my current screen start playing.
2024-10-15 | David | This App is rubbish. Very basic functionality. There is no provision anywhere in the App to stop 'autoplay' of embedded video articles and nowhere to mute the sound. This App makes The Australian paper seem old school and totally out of touch. UPDATE - THIS APP IS SO BAD, WITH AUDIO BREAKING IN WITH NO WAY TO TURN OFF, THAT I'VE NOW UNINSTALLED IT. USELESS! AND THE AUSTRALIAN REFUSES TO FIX IT. GOOD BYE.
2024-10-07 | Russ HM | As many, many others have reported, this app is trash. Had to uninstall the latest version because it continually crashed when trying to load a story from the homepage. You would think that is a basic requirement 🙄 Android phone, latest Galaxy S24, latest updates. Tried clearing app cache, reinstalled, same issue. And yes, I turned my phone off and on again. Have gone back to reading in Chrome. I'm a senior technology consultant. I would sack the News CTO based on the app performance. |
