Contrary to how the game functions on console and PC, you are unable to unlock and use "Debug Mode" in save game files. I don't consider it cheating, considering debug mode is an earned unlock by passing the blue sphere game. Achievements could be disabled but I don't think they even exist in Netflix games. Personally, I think this ruins the fun and overall game experience. As well, another function of debug mode, mach boosting the chaos emerald game, doesn't seem to exist, even in No-Save:Debug

This game controls are garbage. Half the time you get caught looking up when you're trying to run or get to safety. Also during the special stages in game, you press right and it goes left. The jump and moving are lagging we need a d pad instead of a joystick and buttons similar to sega controller. Impossible to do what you want your character to do.

It's great, equivalent to the quality of it being on console. It still holds up to being a great successor to the 1990's Sega Genesis Games, binging in nostalgic levels from Sonic's past while also including a few originals into the mix. It's a great game for new and returning fans. There is only 1 small issue, however. The method of control is a bit wonky. Some might say it makes the game difficult to play. Nonetheless, this is still a great game on Netflix's mobile plan.

It's Sonic mania, but on mobile, and on Netflix? I never played Sonic mania when it came out, so this is kind of my first time playing it, and the controls aren't great Instead of the controls from the Sonic 1 and 2 ports, it's whatever this is SEGA couldn't at least get the original dev team to make the mobile port?

This port is ALMOST perfect, but I would like the option to put D-Pads instead, but I can still play with the joystick! The main problem is the black borders. Please remove those! And for those who are saying that the UI is bad, I disagree, it's actually good for mobile!

Great port of the original game. Would be 5 stars if some port based issues were addressed. My only complaints are that; -It doesn't work with a Bluetooth controller that other apps do read, even though the app does have an option for Bluetooth support - The size of the touch controls isn't adjustable like any other mobile app I've used before - Sensitivity of touch controls isn't adjustable

I heard of the new update, and is THE SAME!!!!!! When I boot it up I still see lab 42. And the controls are the same! The only thing they did to fix was the screen being less weird, but that does not mean is bad. Is not bad, but is not amazing.... I was waiting for it to be fixed but it really wasn't. But if you want to play sonic mania on Android is not terrible....

Hey Netflix, this game is honestly great. It's responsive (to me at least) But, I really don't like the UI in the main menu. The switch version works fine with the touchscreen, so why don't just put the original main menu? And for the touch controls, why don't you just put the Genesis touch controls for sonic 1 and 2 Mobile version? Again, this game is great, but please make these changes. Thank you.

Update from my old review: the 5.0 update seemed to have fixed a couple things, so I'll give you that. It looks like you fixed the pixel scaling, but I can't really tell, so all I want you to do is fix the game looking choppy, let the game take advantage of the entire screen, let the controls be movable, and maybe make it a dpad instead of a weird joystick, which just isn't the best for a 2d platformer, and I'll be happy.

This is pretty close to perfect, but I've had a couple minor issues that hold it back from five stars. As stated with other reviews, there are occasional slowdowns, but nothing that's game breaking. And at that they only ever happened in the blue sphere bonus stages so it wasn't too bad. There are a couple random collision issues throughout the game and for some reason it refuses to let me use debug mode but every other bonus works. So basically, it's a serviceable port that could use some work.
