2024-11-27 | Andy Newby | Good app generally, but one of the updates has broken the humidity chart. It shows the amounts , but the graph comes up with a 'no connection' icon for some reason . The co2/temp/noise ones all work! Update: the graphs are all working now. I didn't do anything, so something must have changed at their end. Anyway, it works now and I can view the charts again
2024-06-22 | Craig Carroll | 😔 another app that logs you out after updating. Why does this happen. Totally defeats the object of receiving notifications if it is being logged oilut
2024-04-17 | Tom Black | Connectivity stopped working after silent firmware update. Can't connect device to my wifi anymore. Opened support ticket but no response since 4 weeks even after checking in twice. Horrible customer experience. Device is useless now. Wouldn't buy it again.
2023-01-20 | PetaFLOPS Computing Ltd. | Great app, functional and informative, nice graphs, etc., but: it cannot export time series with the data. The Web API is immature and buggy (CO2 is written with a zero, C02, so you never get that parameter - HTTP error 500). You can only get JSON output for one parameter at a time, and the timestamps are Unix Local Time in Seconds (huge 9- or 10-digit integers that are not easy to interpret). Not research-friendly. I use it with 3 NetAtmo indoor air quality monitoring devices.
2022-04-30 | M Murphy | The app is basic but OK. Setup is gets 3 stars of 5. - It is very unclear which app needs to be installed - there are 4 or so netatmo apps and my wife could not figure out which to use and how to connect with her iPhone. We managed eventually with my Android phone and this app here. Setup could be made easier. If NetAtmo would make it clearer which app covers which products that would definitely help the first point of difficulty. - Once the right app was installed, connection at first failed but after I did a factory reset, connecting with wifi was super easy. In app functionality gets 4 stars of 5. - The dashboard and charts work and are easy to use. This is the core functionality - The interface is clean, uncluttered and reasonably quick. - Alert thresholds are not configurable and there are red alerts - i.e. "you should open the window now" but not green alerts "It's OK to close the window now", which means that in Winter more energy would be wasted than is necessary. Security and privacy: 1 star of 5 - It is unfortunate that NetAtmo collects user data (e-mail address) - Sensor data IS uploaded to the global internet; I was unsure of this at first so I tested by removing my phone from the local wifi and I could still get live sensor readings. Forcing data to be made available online is a big negative. - It is cool that there is an option not to share "usage data" with NetAtmo but given that the sensor data is uploaded, most of the data has already left our home. I'm sure that some users would be super happy to upload data and have access to the data remotely but this should never be forced. Users SHOULD be able to control their own data. Technically it is not hard for the app to get data only from sensors on the same local network and for the data never to leave the home, if the user so wishes. Please implement this. Website: 2 stars of 5 - There is a NetAtmo website with a personal space, including charts. - Credentials are the same as for the app, so login is easy. - There is a dashboard for the sensors but it is covered by a modal requesting the user to download an application and nothing seems to get rid of the modal so I cannot see the dashboard properly. On the upside this does make me hopeful that NetAtmo doesn't store sensor data without explicit permission, even though sensor data is available online. API: unknown - I guess 1 star - I would like to collect the sensor data on my personal home server but there doesn't seem to be an interface where I can scrape the data. There is something listening on TCP port 5001 but poking that gives `HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable` and no more. Is there an option somewhere in the app to enable a website here? We should be able to access our own data.
2022-03-15 | Rudolf Enberg | The graph could easily be improved just in terms of how it plots and labels the data. For example when I zoom so I can comfortably see the last two weeks and a bit, the graph only renders one data point per day. It could easily show for example 12 or at least 6 points per day, so it's possible to see how the value changes through the day, and whether it's different on the weekends. Etc. Also, in many cases there's only one label visible on the time axis, so the time scale is not apparent.
2021-08-12 | Zsolt Papp | Good and stable app. I would like to see more options for notifications where I could set the value for notification, ex. in hot summer days 26-26,5C still ok, but I get notificatio even at 26,1 which do not help me, because I do not wqnt to run AC till 27. Maybe for the future more analyze option would be helpful... how fast warming up or cooling down the house in comparation with the external temperature (internet based by location). Many possibilities for a such a smart nice looking device.
2021-07-19 | Bob Clark | Has definitely changed my behaviour, to the point of installing a vent which, opens when the CO2 increases over 1000. Also purchased a dehumidifier, the house feels a better environment. So we have been coached, is that a success? The App needs a lot of work, a high end Physical product with a very poor GUI. The same can be said for all Netatmo products.
2021-04-15 | Filipe Governa | Misleading advertising, virtually redundant/useless for their weather station customers/owners, measures nothing their weather station doesn't. Requires electriticy. Can't refresh data in-app, must press physical button on the device (?!). Otherwise good.
2021-04-07 | Meindert Hart | I love the device and app. I would like to see more historical data than just the last 24 hours. I was able to connect my Netatmo account easily to Home Assistant and see all the measurements. |
