the ai-driven photo to text is very good. it even works well with handwritten words. a bug to be aware of is that you have to take the pictures in landscape mode. if you take the pictures in portrait it only reads the first half 😢 I wish the taking pictures process was more automated like Adobe Acrobat. also the 20 Page limit is a pain and I don't think that it's extended if you pay for pro.

I used to use Voice Aloud Reader for many years and it stopped working on my Android so I found this reader which I knew about but Voice Aloud Reader was superior with better voice choices in my opinion. Nevertheless, I am grateful that Natural Reader and I use it everyday throughout the day! I wonder how people get along with out these readers. They function also as dictation tools! It is a huge part of my communication lifestyle!

There's really no offline mode, even with a subscription. Not only will the AI voices not work, it can't even load files that are saved locally. The only workaround is to open a file while you have internet connection, as it will seem to remember that 1 file even after the connection is disrupted, but it will be in a generic, non-AI voice. For that reason, there's much better free apps if you plan on listening offline. Glad I only signed up for 1 month.

The app got worse right after I paid to subscribe. Before paying for a subscription, the automated voice sucked, but there were no performance issues. Now, immediately after paying for a subscription, the audio freezes like every minute or two making it impossible to passively listen without having to open the app constantly to re-click play.

I really recommend this one. I've been looking for a PDF reader to help me go through chapters of homework that I have to read through while I'm working. This app really does what you need: just read. No interruptions, no commercials, all free. You also have the option to clone someone's voice, or listen to premium voices for a small user fee that, to be honest, is worth it in order to listen to a natural, human voice. I will recommend this to my colleagues as a time saver with the homework.

The AI bounces around and doesn't read in order. This would be OK for a document that only has words. But I bought this so I could listen to my college textbooks while at work. But it jumps around constantly as it is reading. Reads part of one page then jumps up a page to read some on that page. Really wish I wouldn't have purchased a years subscription.

I like this app but I don't think the price is quite fair. I won't be doing another month of the paid subscription which is $19/month. It does allow you to listen to your ebooks with voices and AI voices and that is nice and great even but there are some negatives. The voices aren't all the way there yet imo. The UI feels a bit clunky and dated. The settings are not entirely intuitive. On a 500char limit so having to shorten things. Personally I'd find closer to 13/month to be more fitting. Imo

If the pdf is in columns, it reads the page from right column to left column. I wish there was a way to flip this. Or even a way to highlight which portions to read in what order. I paid for the premium version in hopes that it would recognize tables, figures, footnotes, etc to ignore but it doesn't.

I thought it would be an ok app but I uploaded a pdf of a book and the reader can't distinguish between a punctuation or the end of a line of text. This made almost every shift to the next line a punctuation, which made listening to the novel unbearable. I reached out to tech support and never heard back. I canceled my subscription. Such a disappointment.

Shows you as logged in when you aren't, so you'll start using a paid voice and then it makes you log in again and you have to re-add the document and find where you left off. Makes me log in all the time. I don't use the app every day, but when I do I expect it to work. Playback keeps stopping as soon as I leave the app (also when screen is locked), even after disabling battery optimization.
