2024-09-23 | DD | Super Smart, Easy and CLEAN. I paid for the premium version within TEN seconds. You'd think that there would be PLENTY of "great" Katakana apps available in the Play Store..right? RIGHT? WRONG! I mean we're talking ABC's here...it shouldn't be difficult to make Flash ABC's...how bad? From ZERO settings (only ON/OFF), to crazy bad eye killing colors, to being overly complicated, (I just want to learn ABC's!!) to bad interface/controls. This is the ONLY App that got EVERYTHING right. The ONLY ONE.
2023-08-27 | Golden_Hephaestus | One thing I think this app can include are the other combinations such ヴ (v), テイ, etc that aren't included. Lots of katakana apps don't include these (and all the other forms) so I think you can get ahead by including them. I've found it hard to learn them more since I can't find a good source to study them as well as this app; it would be helpful! I know the v sounds are said as like b sounds, but being able to practice reading them would be so much help. Thanks for this wonderful app!
2023-05-31 | VideoMasher3000 | I'm glad to see it's working again! For the past couple weeks I wasn't using it because it wouldn't let me hit the back button in the upper right hand corner so my progress never got saved. Now that it works again I will happily use it! In terms of design, I like both versions you made. The original colorful one and the black edition. Very cool!
2023-05-31 | Noah | The app is better than ever, and I'm glad that it's active again. It's very helpful for learning katakana, and even better than using flashcards. One thing that I wish it had is the option to see the characters used in common sentences. And to the developer, I hope your life is going well and you've helped me learn a lot. :)
2023-05-23 | Май Филатов (m4c0202) | Black logo was better to be honest, as with hiragana pro. UPD: with Hiragana Pro i prefer あ, with Katakana Pro - カ. The icons should be adaptive since not everyone using samsung or pixel phones and its best to let the phone's launcher to cut icons as with other apps. And with background, i prefer black just as i said cuz purple and blue ones looks i dunno, maybe a bit childish with me
2023-01-13 | qazedctgb49 | I know that this app used to perfect, except aspect ratio issue. Glad to see it been developed, but the latest version is too lacking of features in comparison to old ones. I'll still leave 5 stars, but I really hope to see improvements. For now I had to download an APK with an old version.
2022-03-22 | Owen Sanders | These apps work well, but there are a few things that stop me from loving the entire experience. App is very squashed on my long phone (OnePlus 7 Pro). "Panda mode" is almost a good theme for OLED screens, but the white makes up the majority of the UI, so you get no battery saving benefit. Typeface of app title is uhhhh, questionable. Change those three things, and this is a five star app that is well worth the upgrade cost.
2021-01-11 | Aloehart (Aloehart) | Fantastic way to grind katakana. The only thing that keeps it from being 5 stars is the random option. It randomizes the group it gives you, but you still stay roughly within that group. For more effective practice it really needs complete randomization so that you don't have context clues to work with.
2020-07-07 | Al Bee | This app is astounding, I've been using it for only an hour, and with a bit of mnemotic techniques, and memorization, I know the full Katakana kanas! Really easy to pick up, and it has a full alphabet catalog + a side to explain how combos and voiced kanas work. Even for free, it's a super cool app! So I might support the dev, because he did a great great job.
2020-06-01 | The God Emperor of Mankind | Excellent katakana memorisation app, with usable free version and a reasonably priced (1€) premium version. It has a Hiragana version as well. Edit: After stopping and restarting with Japanese and more than a year of having this app it's still a great way to learn or remember the characters. Well worth the premium purchase. |
