Super Smart, Easy and CLEAN. I paid for the premium version within TEN seconds. You'd think that there would be PLENTY of "great" Hiragana apps available in the Play Store..right? RIGHT? WRONG! I mean we're talking ABC's here...it shouldn't be difficult to make Flash ABC's...how bad? From ZERO settings (only ON/OFF), to crazy bad mismatched colors, to being overly complicated, (I just want to learn ABC's!!) to bad interface/controls. This is the ONLY App that got EVERYTHING right. The ONLY ONE.

This is the best way to learn hirigana. It took me a few hours to learn all of them. The fact that during the quizz mode you have unlimited attempts means it's easier to learn as opposed to other apps that have a cool down. The chart is great to study and after an hour or so I can confidently get every single hirigana correct. This app in conjunction with other learning apps and tools are amazing. This is definitely the best for hirigana I've ever seen. 10/10

I probably wouldn't use this app to learn Hiragana, but for practice? It's excellent. When you are practicing: stare at the kana, practice saying it out loud, then move your thumb and press the answer. Or, try and get as fast at picking the answer accurately as you can. Definitely make sure you practice speaking. It will help solidify your memory, how you pronounce it, and also how to read it in your head. Don't rely only picking from the four given answers, and it's a good review tool!

Edit: after the last update the app does not work at all. The developer changes the entire feel of the app every single time there's an update, adding/ removing kana, moving things, etc. The on screen keyboard works exceptionally poorly, I'm not sure why the developers would force us to use that instead of the keyboard on the phone that is actually responsive.

I need the audio back. I don't mind the redesign, but what really bothers me is that there is no audio output anymore at all! Edit: Audio is back, dev seems to be actively working on bringing the app back on track! Nevertheless, I would love to read some statement regarding plans / timetable / and reason behind all that somewhere. Why did one not just redo the app at once and publish the new version after finishing it? :)

2022/10 update broke or removed important features such as feedback on correct answers, keyboard input (type romaji answers for kana) & the UI is even less intuitive than previously. I purchased both apps before. Wouldn't now. -- old review 5* Fantastic game for learning to read hiragana. Great alternative to Leitner flashcards. I bought Pro to remove ads. To the dev: I would have paid more for Pro. You might want to add a donate button so we can further show appreciation. Thank you!

Would be awesome if I could change the input mode. I want to have to type the answers, giving me multiple choice makes it too easy when the difficult thing about learning kana is the characters that look similar. If you show me a character and I know it's one of 2 I often mix up, but only 1 of those is a possibility in the multiple choice it's obvious which one it is.

So I used to use this on my S7 Edge, it worked fine. Haven't been using it for over a year now because it stretches horribly on my s21 ultra screen. Couldn't ever find a fix, thought the app wasn't updated yet, but guess I was wrong. Don't know if it's anything on my end but it would be nice to see some support for this. (Also on the katakana app too)

This app is so well designed that I'm actually struggling to articulate the experience. Don't get me wrong... it's still just flashcards, but this is perhaps the most enjoyable flashcard experience that I've ever had. I also love how the app is not compromised by excessive monotization. You simply buy one IAP and that's it -- they don't play mindgames with you, unlike a lot of other learning apps.

I have been having such a hard time learning the Hiragana, I knew flash cards would help but what's really helping is the randomness of these popping up while adding 3 options. And then adding unlearned ones here and there. I have been using my two thumbs to cover the answer until I guess and then looking at my options. I had to give the .99 cents just because it's so helpful for me. Thank you Dev, here is your half a pear from me. Well earned!
