2024-12-04 | Darren Stirland | The best app to practice writing Chinese characters that I have found. I like how it has an option for traditional characters with zhuyin and the game to write the characters as they fall. At first I thought they had the wrong stroke order for 我, but then I realized I previously learned the simplified stroke order and that it's different depending on simplified or traditional.
2024-11-08 | Julian Zhang | wow, I'm impressed! It's exactly what I was looking for and works really smoothly, and actually more fun to play than I thought. I wanted something that focused just on character writing as I can read already, and this delivers everything you'd want. I also really appreciate that the upgrade to full version is a single time purchase and not a subscription, or else I wouldn't have bought it. Kai upgrade is a must too. Well-designed and well-executed, thank you and please keep it up!
2024-10-07 | Екатерина Волкова | Nice app allows everyday's studying Chinese language anytime, anyplace. Especially helps to master writing skills which is significant for better understanding this language.
2024-07-27 | Mendel Cyprys | I like this app, I am using it just to learn the stroke orders and get used to the characters, at this point. Only point of friction for my use case is that there is a approx. 2 second pause after you do every character, where they play a congratulation message. It would be very useful to have an option to shorten that wasted time period, or turn it off.
2024-06-12 | Xuan Nhi Le | Fun app, everything is great except for the fact that I can't copy the characters (in order to paste it to the dictionary/flash cards). My cursor won't appear when I tap on the characters. This is such a simple task to do. I paid for all the characters to be unlocked so I would expect to at least do that. Either the app has this problem or just my phone.
2024-02-25 | Robin | Very good app that makes learning characters fun. I especially like this hard mode feature, I use it as a kind of dictation exercise to see if I really know the characters from the top of my head. The full price is justified and I'm glad that it's a one time payment, not 15$ every month like skitter. App has no ads :) Needs some improvements & bug fixes though; sound doesn't play sometimes and you should be able to chose which characters to practice, visual of the strokes isn't perfect
2023-11-17 | Jeff Castañeda | What a great way to gamify my hànzì learning! I use this app to reinforce the characters I learn, with stroke order and all. It can be improved by including a customisable option to change colours of the pīnyīn. The Android version has just recently been updated, but with minor changes.
2023-09-01 | Adam Montgomery | A great app for beginners to learn to read and write Chinese characters. I've been amazed at how much "writing" them with my finger using this app has helped me memorize and learn a few hundred characters already. The pronunciation given with each one further helps reinforce the learning. This app makes learning a lot more fun than staring at a book and trying to memorize letters and words. My one complaint is that there is no way to quit a session midway through and keep the time.
2023-07-11 | Kat Tipton | I really appreciate the inclusion of kai fonts, traditional characters with Taiwanese stroke order, and zhuyin pronunciation! It's very hard to find apps supporting zhuyin learning and it's just so much better than pinyin! I also love the web interface for importing my vocab lists. This is the first Chinese language app I have paid and subscribed for, and I have zero regrets. Amazing for practicing writing and audio recognition.
2023-02-14 | Ryan Matthews | I think this is the best app out there for studying the hanzi. I bought the two upgrades (unlocked all characters and brush font). It's not perfect but it's good. I think they could take some notes from "Kanji Study" by Chase Colburn. Suggested improvements would be ways to import/export characters from a text file, updating to HSK 3.0, sorting custom lists, and an option to practice a given character until perfect. |
