Update ... now only sporadically works. Will not work on my tablets. And I refuse to use the new 2.0 app because it runs on a 3 second delay ... not helpful for safety. | |
2024-11-22 | Micheal Conley | Latest update broke playback. I can only see about 1 hour of video on one camera and just a few minutes on another camera. Nothing on another. I will update rating when this gets fixed. Edit 11-22-2024: Still can't get Amcrest View Pro to properly show playback with the latest update. I always have to revert back to version 4.2.024. That's the last version that shows all playback correctly. I've even installed Amcrest View Pro 2. Same problem there. | |
2024-11-20 | A M | Recently, something changed and when the notification settings are turned on and actually stay on, it won't even tell me when there's activity/motion in my camera's view. This totally DEFEATS the purpose of having a security camera!!! Please fix it and the bug where it turns off notifications in general (randomly on its own). | |
2024-11-16 | J Gambeck | Im so done with this brand. The most unreliable security cameras on the market. Push notifications for motion detect DO NOT WORK work anymore. I can manually view the camera from my phone and from the PC no notifications. This defeats the purpose of a security camera if it doesn't notify me when someone entered my home. Last time this happened support just said sorry & to wait for an update fix that took a few months before they fixed it, we'll issue is back. Time for a different brand. | |

Configuration of a camera is strung out across an amazing number of screens and takes way more clicks than it should. After a few years I now am unable to get any notifications from my 3 camera. Reinstall, reconfig, nothing fixes the notifications | |
2024-10-25 | Clint K | After Probably 8 + years Amcrest has not perfected this app. The newest issue, password forgetfulness. Simple or complex P/W, this app denies me. ALL apps are horrible. Not just Amcrest Technologies'. I really enjoyed Some of their products (until they stopped working). Too much "security" for home use. Being locked out every time because this app can't remember my p/w. Resetting to fix every timegets tiresome. Like rewriting this review repeatedly and never saying anything good. | |
2024-10-12 | Enjoytheoutdoors101 | It has been a great app for many years until the most accurate thing they had stopped working. That was the motion notification to the phone. It has stopped working and won't send any motion notifications. I don't know if it was an update that they did, or was it a phone update that caused it. But the point is it's some sort of a software bug, and it hasn't been fixed by Amcrest. I hope they do something about soon. | |

I've had these cameras for about 2 years and haven't had any issues till now. I have tried deleting the camera and reconnecting, I've gone through every setting and it won't connect to the "Alarm triggers" setting either. I used to like these cameras because I didn't have to pay a fee, and I could use an SD card for storage. Now they are not as useful. | |
2024-09-22 | N A | I have several indoor Pan/tilt 2 way mic/speaker cameras. The Amcrest View Pro App is Junk! I have used it for the past 8yrs. I used to contact tech support( foreign agents who read a manual & then relay what they read). Not Tech Experts at any level), basic/limited knowledge & difficult foreign accents. These cameras will work ok for awhile, but then features begin to malfunction or not work at all. Their only fix is to hard reset the camera. No longer does this app support latest Android. FU! | |
2024-08-15 | Vahe Torossian | Playback doesnt work... again. App just doesnt work right and is very clunky. Edit - Up to 3 stars from 1: 8/15/24: App works better, motion detect replay works better, but still a nightmare to setup new cams. Also, Im constantly having to update the IP addresses of my cams in the app when my router changes them. Very annoying. Its a good thing I know how to find them... The average user will not know how to, imo. |
