| 2024-05-18 |  | | Great on the drawing board but it slowed my phone down, drastically. And I couldn't use my real location to let stores know I had arrived. Helpful but not. Finally, turned it off, ultimately uninstalled. Also, on a more timely note, I did turn defender on again but it completely possesses my phone. I couldn't get pictures from my daughter. This app is too intrusive. I can do good doing two-step verification, changing my passwords and being proactive with my credit. No thanks. |

I'm still able to use every app I have on my phone with no issues whatsoever. To be honest, I forgot it was on my phone until tonight when it needed an update. (I do manual app updates). Microsoft scans your phone, computer (PC app required), the dark web for your info and so much more. VPN works great for using public WIFI and 5GB is included, all for free!! |
| 2024-03-10 |  | | Originally worked, but slowed 300 mb to 5 mb. Turned privacy off, worked. Went on a cruise ship (starlink, probably). Could connect, but was getting absolutely no data up or down - while others were fine. Privacy was back on (not by me). Worked fine. Later, same problem with privacy off. Uninstall is the only thing that fixed the problem. One star, though many features would be great to have, because it's totally useless if it blocks all traffic of any sort. |

It might be a great app but I will never know. Get it together Microsoft. Your free apps work all off the time just as intended and you can't get a paid app to work even once? Your watch can't keep track of your vital signs. You can't log into any of your trusted sites. Pandora won't even log in or work properly. My healthcare app will not log in or show me any of my info, even while at my doctor's office. and there's no way to adjust or allow anything. But you'll keep getting notifications. |
| 2024-01-24 |  | | The experience has gotten much better. I repeat do not install Avast . Ok this app does now show it's scanning and it shows what it has scanned if it's a threat. The app is good for this it also features a private browsing session that word really well but on some sites I had to turn not off. So I went with a VPN that I purchased . That app is very professional and so far I love it. If you want a good combination of security I recommend Microsoft Defender and Nord VPN. They work well together. |
| 2023-12-30 |  | | As soon as the app was installed, Chrome Internet browsing stopped working. The error reported was something like "Web site cannot be found." Even after rebooting my Pixel phone the problem still persisted. Uninstalled Defender and Chrome browsing started working again. How does an app that completely breaks Internet browsing even get released?? It's mind-boggling! |

I switched from Bit Defender and miss the control I had over my device and other devices under my subscription plan including forcing updates, scans, and locating my family's devices as well as just being able to control more protection settings. |

Even as I'm typing this the page loading spinny thing is going. 😆 Honestly, I'm not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing but I will say you'll experience a definite performance hit on your phone. Hopefully Microsoft will fix this issue in future versions. |
| 2023-10-04 |  | | Nice set and forget!! Other have mentioned that web protection keeps turning itself off. All I can say is that it has NEVER happened to me yet. My one suspicion is that you didn't give the program all the permissions it needs in the accessibility settings. Google has tightened the protection that almost all the programs had. Some developers were able to make use of a LOT of hidden features that way. Bad guys took advantage of it also. 😠Now it's getting as tight as the proverbial you know |
