2024-11-30 | Mark Jones | UPDATE; This App can be a little tricky to use at first but once you get used to the menu it is indespensible when you want to find, copy, move, send, play, view, etc. What did I miss here? 😉 All you might need is some previous experience in those functions that you may have already used in other OS platforms.
2024-10-31 | S | Started off great, but crapped out in less than an hour. I found it very useful to move fingers from my Google Drive to my phone. However, when I tried moving groups of 25 or 50 files, it was hit or miss. Sometimes it worked flawlessly, sometimes it froze after moving 3-6 files,b and sometimes the transfers never started. While I appreciate the efforts of the developers, I find this app to be of little use if it can't be consistent.
2024-10-13 | Oz StickPlayer | What happened to this app? this used to be a really good, fast way to get around files. now, it literally takes 30 seconds to a full minute every time I do a rename, or save a file, before it can figure out that it's there. Creating a directory - it's unclear just how long you have to wait before a new directory will appear in its listings. I gave it a full 2 minutes before I gave up waiting. It feels like I'm running on a 10-year-old phone. This app is a complete disappointment now.
2024-09-13 | Lord Kayoss | After Samsung broke their My Files app with a recent update, I could no longer transfer files from my phone to my shared folder on the PC over WiFi without the app crashing. I remembered using Astro File Manager years ago and was delighted to find it still around. Adding my network folder to the app was easy and I'm back in business. Thanks!
2023-06-25 | Sean Fitzgerald | For over seven years, Astro used to be an app that I always could rely on... Ever since my phone upgraded to running on Android 13, it's like the app has lost its will to live -- crashing every time I try to use it. (And Android also telling me that Astro crashed while running in the background). Still works on other devices, but even then, not as well as it used to.
2022-10-04 | Craig Sedery | Connecting to home shares required me to use the IP address since I'm on DHCP it makes it a bit more clumsy, the app did not recognize the share name. Also it took several attempts to make a connection to the share as it did not recognize the username and password that I had set up originally. However once the shares were accessible the transfer of files was clean and efficient, without dropouts that I had experienced with other apps. Definitely worth the try!
2022-04-16 | Yvonne Block | Will not connect to OneDrive if you login using Microsoft Authenticator App. You will authorize and it takes you back to login page. But you can login using password. Also, you cannot sort files in folder by latest date nor is it clear what the some of the icons mean. Last time I used this was in 2012 and figured I would give it a shot in 2022. I will use it for a couple weeks. Therfore, I may change the 3 stars.
2022-03-18 | Sebastian Greenholtz (greenmntmagpie) | Visually pleasing on layout, straightforward functionality for finding and removing unwanted files. Biggest drawback is looking through picture files is overwhelming, because 1) the icons from apps are included, and 2) the pictures are shown very close up without a lot of space in between each one, which makes them hard to process.
2022-02-28 | Josh UA | Looks like a good file manager but there is no option to back up files or settings anywhere that I've seen, despite the claims that it supports backups. The website's faq page doesn't load for me and the independent tutorials I've googled for Astro all say to swipe to the side, but when I do this nothing happens. I'm not sure if the app changed recently and now all the information is outdated? But the description that you can back up with this app is not true.
2022-02-20 | Rich G | Been using this app for many years and loved it. Now, one of the important features I use the app for is gone. I like to keep shortcuts to certain folders on my home screen for quick access (mostly work documents). Since the last update the shortcuts no longer work. They only open the Astro app. Without this feature, I no longer need the app and will uninstall and part ways with Astro File Manager. I thought updates were to improve an app, not remove features. |
