2024-11-17 | Marisa Damiano | Signed up to find out I can't use NETFLIX on the app. The app needs work. When watching a video is portrait mode if you change a setting, speed for example it goes to landscape mode then you have to have to escape that and it brings you to the episodes list and you have to click back into your video. Honestly, I only used the app briefly and there seem to be issues that make learning frustrating. The method of learning it different and fun. Hopefully the app doesn't take that away.
2024-09-26 | Michele Nutter | I love the method that lingopie uses however I'm super disappointed with the app. First, i was expecting to be able to use Netflix but upon opening the app I see it's only available on computer desktop, not mobile. The music function is useless, it constantly pauses even when the auto pause is turned off. The videos will sometimes do the same and they constantly freeze and the subtitles will freeze while the video keeps playing. I have to close the app constantly and re open. NEEDS LOTS OF WORK!
2024-09-24 | Elizabeth Owens | I love that there's finally a 4ever option. Tired of subscription fees that go on forever? They have amazing prices, including 199 4 life. Cut that into no interest w/ pay in 4/flex pays. it's way better than Duo/Rosetta, etc. It's the only years long immersion option for people w/ no one in their life who's fluent in the language. I love being able to slow down, pause after every sentence in a show, the English & OG translation on screen. clicking on words for real time translations is the đ
2024-09-17 | Chris Tencati | Nice idea, poor execution. Subtitles are frequently very wrong, or even missing, but you can't edit your cards to fix them. So you can study the wrong meanings, which isn't super helpful. Video quality is poor and can't be changed. Support doesn't respond to questions. They offered to let me pay 50% _more_ if I didn't cancel. I love the idea, but it's all-around shoddy and not worth it.
2024-09-07 | Rey Gross | Update to my previous review. Netflix is NO longer an option in the app! Now your app is saying only on a browser! What happened? This was the reason I signed up. Please remove this from you app description! People may sign up and no be away until AFTER they sign up. Casting doesn't appear to be working. Finally it would be great if the app matched the website. Example New in Spanish & the booking of live classes isn't available.
2024-08-17 | Alistear | Cool idea but I can't seem to get it to work. It let's me watch something with Japanese and English subtitles, tells me that I can select words I don't know to learn about later, but no matter how I try I can't seem to highlight anything so my learning list is always empty. Without being able to highlight things to learn I'm essentially just watching Crunchyroll... They don't have a tutorial on how to use the app but are quick to point out that I can pay for it's services.
2024-07-13 | Kathy Scharplaz | Best language app yet! Pick videos you want, play them speed you want, choose if you want English subtitles or just the target language. You can choose to pause after every sentence-- or not. Go forward or backward. Click on words you don't know to get translation and pronunciation; any word you click on gets added to your flashcard file for later review. You can activate the microphone, practice saying sentences, playback to hear how you sound. ENORMOUS selection of video content. LOVE this!!
2024-03-17 | Fuse Henry | I LOVE the Daily Challenge, and especially love the Hot Streak "Sound" and "Animation." Whoever made it should get a raise, because it's the real reason I try to maintain my streak. It may be strange to make such a big deal about the sound-effect & exploding animation for the Daily Challenge/Hot Streak portion, but sometimes a small thing can make all the difference. I hope they NEVER change it. It's perfect. I also love the app itself and the idea. I wish I had more time to spend in Lingopie.
2024-03-03 | Justin Ordonez | The service itself is fantastic, however, the mobile app is not. Lingopie is an incredible learning tool when running from a web browser, and you can tell the folks who designed it know what's useful for learning. The ui of the mobile app is a poor rep of all the great features the web counterpart has to offer. Some crucial options are missing and the script takes up 80% of my screen space. Create a browser shortcut instead. I'm on a ZFold4, issues present in both folded and unfolded modes.
2024-02-23 | Lady R | Tried the 7-day trial prior to purchasing Lingopie. They have great discounts during the holidays! I am surprised how much time I've spent in the app already! Bummed out that I need to find (or purchase) a really long HDMI cable to connect to my TV because their "cast" feature isn't available through the desktop app even though they claim that they have the feature (Chrome) The mobile app "cast" feature became available but it's glitchy. Regardless, 4 stars! |
