2024-10-23 | Emily Gibson | Honestly I'd give this zero stars if that was allowed. I've never been so annoyed with an app. It was not intuitively set up. Too difficult to find what I wanted to do. My kid had to bring her phone to me to check off a task. What's the point of the dashboard if they aren't going to use it? Removing it was a nightmare and it errored while I tried to delete my account. I canceled the subscription and it kept popping up as active. I had to email them to make sure I'm not charged later.
2024-07-17 | N Bo | I liked the free version and wanted to upgrade to the paid one. I purchased a subscription on my kids device, but it is still showing the ad-supported free version. Google Play says the subscripton is there, but I can't access any paid features. I logged in to the parental app on my phone, still nothing. Very disappointing.
2024-02-09 | Emily Gieseke | Used to be better. I have used this for years. It takes just a few seconds to change which apps they're allowed to access, so I use that to only allow certain games at certain times. there is no junk with this app. My main problem is that it frequently randomly goes off the app altogether, which completely negates usefulness, or it will freeze or crash when trying to use a timer. I have factory reset the phone, updated the app, etc. This just keeps happening randomly. Looking for a different app
2023-10-14 | val see | While this is the only game in town- the only truly free and actually mostly functional parental control, it is glitchy and quite persistent... this is not always a bad thing, but can get annoying when you have to re-close the app with a pin multiple times to do anything but kid mode. The ads can be easily skipped by just opening the activity bar when it's loading.
2023-05-25 | Skud Missal | Not a fluid app. If the child touches the home/recent keys it backs out of the app and reenters to the home screen. No option to remove these buttons. Although kids place does not show apps for the child, there is No ad blocker for the ads in the apps installed. These also led back to the home screen. We tried it for an hour, but this issue agitated her immensley. Relentless emails about my trial ending (didn't realize there was a trial, just a premium version). Uninstalled.
2022-08-31 | Sheena Danielle | We used this app for a long time. The last few months it has gotten terrible about letting my kids open the play store. The lock just literally doesn't work. The app lags, flashes, and then just lets them out whenever they touch an ad. The funny thing is the UPGRADE ME TO PAID VERSION spam also got bad recently. But why on earth would I pay for an app that literally does not work?! And yes I had it set up correctly, locked home button, pin protected. I already updated and it still didn't work.
2022-07-23 | KRiS | After using this for about a year I can say if you have an older device this app doesn't work well. It's more annoying than it is helpful. It lags and always has a popup about a kids safe browser. My kid is 3, I don't want her on the internet at all. Adding/removing apps is annoying and slow and under certain circumstances the app will only load a handful of your allowed games/content. You have to go back in, disallow them all and re-allow them to get them to show up again. Good concept overall
2022-04-08 | Carol Landrith | I paid for the subscription. Everything seemed fine for a while until today. I go to put some new games on my daughter's tablet and I can't exit the app to get to the play store. It's acknowledging that it is the correct pin, It pretends that it's going to exit, then it won't exit. So I try to send an email for support and it won't do that from the app either. Okayyy. So then I change the settings to not come back on after a reboot. Well sure enough it comes back on anyway despite the change in settings. I changed the home screen setting to not come back on when you push the home screen middle button and after trying 15 times it finally randomly exits the ap. Yay! oh but the home screen button still brings me back. What? So I end up just trying over and over to exit and when it finally does I get to the settings and disable the app and delete it to finally get control of the tablet back. This app was behaving like a virus. Once the app was deleted the tablet started going faster too. If I had not paid for the subscription I probably would have just been annoyed and not written a review but I paid for this ya'll.
2021-06-13 | Katie Derhay | It's an okay app, keeps my daughter out of apps I don't want her in most of the time. However, she's able to bypass that somehow through ads that are on her games, or sometimes from my notifications. It works a good part of the time, but I have to constantly take her out of apps I don't want her in. I tried blocking them through the app but it doesn't work.
2021-01-10 | Judith A | I like the idea of this app and it's great for allowing only certain apps to be used, but the internet feature didn't work. When you turn the app on, it would say "disabling internet for kids place" but it doesn't actually turn it off. You have to turn the wifi off before starting the app, for it to work. But that negates the options they have of allowing internet for some apps or turning it off altogether. And it would be nice to have an option for a security code other than a 4-digit code. |
