2024-08-18 | John Robinson | Obviously I wouldn't rely on an app for critical navigation but this is totally broken. Has trouble getting a GPS lock even when my dedicated GPS app can lock in 3s. Must force quit app to update location, every time the screen sleeps or you switch away from app it ceases updating location. Navigation functionality is unintuitive and clunky -- it's a challenge even to get a bearing to a particular chart feature. Chart display itself is good, but that's about it.
2024-08-03 | Branch Gaarder | Fantastic maps, offline downloads is a great feature. Please, improve the bottom drawer/swipe-up portion that shows up in many sub-menus during operations such as: Route planning, spot saving, home screen etc. It's very difficult to precisely swip up on that portion, and some instances are blocked by save or next button and functions related to that operation are completely blocked, or not hidden if cannot be used. Infuriating, worst part of the app aside from random crashes (multiple times/day
2024-07-24 | Chris Torres | Does not work 90% of the time and there is no customer service. I called US support and was "next caller in queue" for almost 2 hours before it disconnected. Never once did anyone answer. I also emailed over a month ago and asked for updates several times. No answer. I don't think there is customer support for c-map products. Sadly I paid for a subscription. I would like my money back!
2024-06-10 | William P | i paid for annual subscription. Until summer 2023, I was able to access app on my PC and use auto route function. It worked great. Planning is much easier on PC than phone (android). Since summer 2023, I am unable to use auto route function on PC (app crashes). Contacting support is difficult.
2024-02-01 | Michael Griffo | The maps are great for sailing if you have WiFi and they fix the login bug. Unfortunately, I can't even see a single map at this point in time. I paid for the pro version for a sailing trip. Unfortunately, the offline maps have poor resolution. Maybe user error, I'm pretty savvy though. Even worse, to use the app, you have to have Internet or you can't log in. And now even worse, after an update I can't even login on my phone or tablet. Some Facebook login error with C-Map...
2024-01-08 | Reed Calkins | Multiple menu loops (multiple ways to get to different menus and settings). Just makes the app very cluttered and confusing to use. AIS does not work anymore! Ever since the recent data breach or around that time I cannot get any AIS contacts to display despite it saying on and connected. Starting to regret paying for the membership. Update - Support got back to me and said the AIS function is still broken and refunded me.
2023-09-20 | Michael Cook | They broke the app. I was using it for navigation for sailing for a couple years, for Day sails around me home waters. Mostly just needed it for quick bearings to fix my location or heading. They removed that functionality, you can no longer take a bearing from your position to a waypoint. It's a navigation app that doesn't navigate.
2023-06-14 | Matt Hopper | Downloaded and could not even set it up. Kept throwing some king of authentication error. Tried through Facebook login even and made it to a screen that appeared to have connected the 2 but then took me back to login screen and gave same authentication error. Deleted and tried again and same results. Would really like to try this map instead of navionics again but at least with navionics I know it works
2023-06-03 | David Brian Weathers | Confused! I downloaded the app because I have ordered a Reveal chip for my boat. After zooming in on a home lake and setting up my custom colors for depth ranges, the app doesn't provide a way out of that or a way to actually save it. Not to mention, it's only coloring the selected ranges along the shore and not humps in the lake! I pray it works better in my Lowrance unit!
2023-05-24 | blaise keen | May 2023 - I have been attempting to like this app for 2 years. I find it a frustrating experience. First , downloading or updating charts is always very slow. I'm confident the slow download is c-map, not my internet service. Next the "pinned location" tool pops up so easily, I am constantly closing it...a real nuisance. Creating routes is clutzy. Navigate is unimpressive. I will not be renewing my c-map subscription. |
