2024-10-17 | Ryan Mackey | I really like using this app! It has been a great service to me, especially when traveling, whilst I was living overseas, and living an area where I don't have standard home internet. Two things I would like to see in a future update: 1) that the "Grade" tab in the grading view have the option for a rubric like the desktop version; 2) that the discussion posts from the grading view includes a word count like the posting side does (helpful for assignments with minimum word counts). Thank you!!
2024-10-01 | Jonathan Ayer | Would normally give this a 5 star. Have loved having this app as an option for grading and communicating. However, it has been more buggy lately. I'm not getting push notifications (checked app permissions and Canvas settings) and discussion board replies are unreadable in the SpeedGrader enlarging off edge and can't pinch Zoom it. Have reached out to support 4 times over month through email and help tickets with no replies. Now resorting to these reviews to draw attention to problems for all.
2024-09-27 | Ryan Lopez DeVinaspre | I used to love this app, but 2 things. 1) the grade/comments window is now to the right of the document instead of below it. This is MUCH less usable. When it was below, I could easily swipe it down to get the document on full screen or swipe it up to get the rubric on full screen. It was great! Now I'm stuck with 1/3 waste. Please share if I'm missing something (I need full screen docs). Next, please optimize it for e-ink tablets. It's amazing to read on, but the writing lag is rough.
2024-09-01 | Brett Swanson | I like the app overall, but recently I've had issues where, when I filter an assignment to one section it will show that section's students only, but when I click on a student to put in grades, it opens up a different student from a different section and swiping left or right to different students shows every student I teach and their submissions. It makes it a lot more difficult to grade when I have to scroll through 200+ students instead of 30-35.
2024-07-23 | Susan Wynn | It's a mostly good app. It would be nice to see student grades by assignment instead of having to go to the People section and find them in the student profiles one at a time. It would also be good to be able to edit the late days for a student's assignment submission in the app like you can do from the web interface.
2024-05-11 | Colette Claire | It can be convenient, but lots of bugs with the grading lately. I grade something, but it's still showing in the list of assignments I need to grade, even though the grade appears. Now, it's doing it with things dating all the way back to the beginning of the semester. Also, it should make links clickable when you edit an assignment on the app, I have to jump on my laptop to make the link active. Also, you should be able to add things to a module on the app.
2024-05-10 | A R | While this app is convenient it significantly lacks functionality. I don't get why you can't see "grades* in the app but you can on the website. Same goes for modules. The app should essentially be a copy of the website version, but it's not. I can't enter "excused" or remove late points in the app which essentially makes grading in the app obsolete. Also lacks the delay until announcement function for announcement posts or allowing students to like and not just comment. Please update the app!
2024-03-16 | Amy Jones | It kicks me out regularly and when I try to log back in, won't allow me to use DUO two-step authentication until I try multiple emergency passcodes, which the app refuses to accept. Also, the SpeedGrader function does not crop to a phone screen and so you cannot really do grading, as it's impossible to scroll between students/see the submissions. And not all functionalities available via app (why?!?). Better than no app I guess, but bad execution.
2023-06-04 | M WU | It's great but needs to be more mobile friendly. Grading is especially cumbersome as you grade a question you have to click on the box where you assign the score, then tell open up the devices keyboard, then tell your device you need the number and not letter pad. The inclusion of Radial buttons for grading full, half and zero credit or even simply signalling to the device to bring up the numeric keypad first you make the app so much easier to use. The system for taking suggestions is ridiculo
2023-01-27 | Pranav Sharma | The only app on my tablet without palm rejection for an active stylus. Annotating student submissions is miserable on this app. It also seems that this app is severely behind the iOS version in features and functionality. Several files display incorrectly or can only be viewed in the narrow sidebar instead of the main viewing window. Abysmal experience. |
