I'm a kayaker (long boat, not the 'wannabe' kayaks from chainstores). This app is letting me keep track of my milage and speeds, giving me a way of tracking my goals. Excellent coverage, have had no drop-outs like I was experiencing with my Garmin a year ago. Not dis-sing Garmin, I did have an older model that was 'over the hlll'. Works,,, simple enough to use, that I sometimes forget to shut it off at the end of a float. (using the non-subscribed version,)

I use this app all the time for hiking, 4 wheeling, and MTB riding. It's great for that. It's great for tracking your stats (without competition). I have used it to get unlost in the back country. You can upload your tracks. I recently transferred all my ridess onto another newer phone, which had some glitches, but it did work. 4 stars because on my newer phone it keeps wanting for me to set my notifications to on, but when I do the notifications happen at every 15 sec for each GPS point.

I love this app. It's pretty straight forward and easy to use. I like keeping track of some of the statistics it keeps like elevation, walking speed and I use it to drop pins where I set up my trail cam. The ability to retrack a past route is pretty simple. Gentle tip try to stay still for a good thirty seconds to a minute so it gets your bearings straight. Five stars Geo Tracker! Update 7-31-24. This app seems like it doesn't work as good as it did even a year ago. I'd still give it four stars.

Best app for giving your phone the functionality of a stand alone GPS device. I have been using it for years to conduct field work, backcountry skiing, hiking, and anything else that needs a map. For work I often have a $25,000 GPS unit with me, but I still use this app as any easier way to navigate or view map details. It is super flexible in terms of importing and exporting data.

THIS IS SO AMAZING AND HELPFUL - In learning new routes for my job, it has been so helpful. It shows any route I record, and shows my current position, to determine if I'm off course. Haven't used it for personal routes yet, but I'm excited about the possibilities. I feel like I will never get lost again. I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars because sometimes it will stop recording my route when I try to drop a pin/marker. Overall, it has been wonderful and easy to use!

Exactly What I Was Looking For! I needed an app to trace my path while out in my kayak. I go out in the ocean and through tiny openings in mangroves, lagoons, and coves for several hours at a time. I was worried about getting lost. Won't happen with this app. And I can save my trips so I can explore new spots or save good fishing locations. My last trip was almost 6 hours & it brought my battery down to 42%. So it's pretty damn efficient considering it's using GPS.

Geo Tracker is the best offline mapping tool. I use it mostly when I have spotty or no signal. It records all the track info plus a ton of neat features like track coloring, charts and data for altitude changes and length. It doesn't drain my battery noticeably and handles loading maps with spotty data, gracefully. Import and export is great for sharing tracks that aren't stuck in a walled garden. Make sure to enable run in background for the app, data and gps. NO ads! only a donate link. I did

I've used the app for a few years and like it well enough to pay the small fee. Two annoyances: the waypoint symbols are balloon shapes that block the view of the track and the arrow isn't pointy enough. If the symbols were +'s or x's and the arrow was thinner and maybe a different color from the track line, it would be about perfect.

Excellent app that does what it's designed to do, and does it really well. No bells nor whistles, no frills. I've been using it for quite some time to track hikes, runs, and nowadays all of my work delivery routes that I do. It allows me to keep a very accurate log for my trips: both mileage as well as date and times. I can export all that info and generate a complete log file from the individual files that Geo Tracker creates. Excellent work. Only small issue is the mislabeling on when the track was created (Today, Yesterday, etc., ) But that's a MINOR thing.

Tried a few others and for various reasons I didn't like them. For example, Relive is able to make fancy animated renderings of your route. Problem is you can't figure out where you've been or are going. The map just keeps spinning around. I like the way this one just gives you a two-dimensional map overhead look. This one does everything I like and I'm able to save the route afterwards to pass on to others.
