2024-11-02 | Cris B | It worked with my Pixel phone a while back, say 6 months ago. When using it again I got scanfailed: 2. When opening the app. After trying to redo the setup, still got the error when opening the app. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. Rebooting made error go away but still didn't see device. Works on my wife's phone. Me: Android 14.
2024-09-08 | Scott Sears | Just got the 30amp pedestal device. Will need to test on my next outing, but it is working as expected at home. The qr scanner in the android app used to link the app to the device sucks. No where on the device could I find the device id in order to enter it manually. I finally used another qr code reader, and it scanned the id just fine before I even had the image centered. In that app, I copied the id to the clipboard and then pasted it into the manual field in the watchdog app.
2024-04-13 | The 7.3 Project | Works well for me. I have the hard mount 50A unit. I have it mounted just inside by the physical plug. I retain the factory power cord, less bulky, and cluttered at the meter base. I see people have issues with connections, but i can say i never have issues. I am about 10 feet or less from my WD usually, so im within in the capabilities of bluetooth. The app itself is not fancy. It does its job and nothing more. This is the reason for 4. It would be nice to have history and auto connect.
2024-04-07 | Daniel O'Neal | Great physical product, app is awful. 9/10 times I try and connect from literally 5 feet away if that and it can not find the device. I occasionally have to go out my phone touching it to get it to find it. Kind of defeats the purpose of having an app to begin with. Also sometimes bugs out and shows 0 volts 0 amps as if I had no power despite still having shore power. Like I said before, glad I got the actual physical product. I got the hardwired version and was easy enough to install.
2024-03-17 | Sherri R. Connor | This app needs to have wifi capability. The Bluetooth is very limiting and if we shut off the power I have to reinstall the watch dog every time. Which is crazy. I would like to see some kind of historical history and the ability's to change the rate for the electricity. The app is OK, but I would really like for it to be wifi compatible and I would like for the app to remember the device should power be shut off for travel.
2023-07-06 | Gregory Marshall | Love our Watchdog! We live in our travel trailer and if the voltage goes below 104 volts or over 132 volts, it will shut off the power. With the app you can watch the voltage and the amps in real time on your phone via bluetooth. It's hot right now and the parks power keeps dipping below 104 volts. Shuts right down, and comes back on when above 104. Low voltage is as damaging as high voltage. Better safe than sorry!
2023-06-19 | Raymond Isbill | Update: App seems to be more stable now but still not a fan of the overall layout and look. I would love to see some added features such as a history of the recorded power like a graph so I can see how stable the power is. Also would like to see an option for it to calculate power cost based on our local rate. That way we can easily see if we are staying within our daily power budget.
2023-04-13 | Karen Sharbono | Poor application it will not load my info onto my phone. Most of the time it cannot even find my surge protector. Someone needs to fix this app instead of ignoring the problem, cause I can see the same complaints from other users. I paid more for this product so I could use the app and it would send me input of outages etc... Wow what a let down. I'm considering returning and getting a cheaper product that does the same. No need to worry about their apps since this doesn't work either.
2023-01-20 | Katelyn | I love that I can see it on my phone and even turn it back on should it trip for some reason without having to go back outside. I docked a star because everytime the app updates you have to reconnect your device. I docked another star because you have to scan the damn QR code. I cannot for the life of me find the input ID it refers too. I would much rather just keep that written down somewhere so I don't have to go all the way outside to scan the QR code.
2022-12-31 | David Shepherd | 12-29-22 edit. App works well again. Thank you for fixing the crashing app. +1 star Great tool, but app is crashing now 12-22. Can't use it anymore. Deleted the app and tried repeatedly. Once it tries to connect the app crashes. It works on my wife's iPhone but not mine (samsung galaxy note 5g). It used to work fine for 2 years but not anymore. Please fix. |
