Update 11/23/24 This thermostat and the app are a complete waste of money and time. It constantly loses Internet connection and takes days and countless attempts to restore, if it is even successful. Once again it's been days and I still can't get an Internet connection to stick. This is completely unacceptable when considering the price of this thermostat. There's nothing smart about this dumb thermostat and the accompanying app. ------------------------------------ It's veeeery buggy.

Very basic and with an amateurish interface, or at least one that belongs to early 2000's. It features a permanent button called "find rebates" on the main screen, and just as prominent as the key buttons that actually control the unit. And all these 4 buttons are small and packed closely together, making it harder than it should be to hit the right one. This is unnecessary as the rest of the screen has weirdly wasted space.

Figured out if you resize your apps in your phone's settings to the smallest option. It causes the issue listed below. I went up one size in the settings and the app now works as normal and as it did on my old phone. Issue I was having before discovering this -- (The app is only in landscape mode and I can not see the temp adjustment because the screen is squished and it's only cuts off the temperature adjustments. I can see everything else just fine on my pixel 9.)
