User reviews
Toddler Proof(Touch Lock) is appreciated for its no-ads, free, simple design and effective touch locking during toddler use, especially on video calls. However, many users report inconsistent volume button unlock function and the inability to disable navigation and notification bars, allowing toddlers to circumvent the lock. The small lock button and occasional app instability also detract from usability. Overall, it serves its basic purpose but needs improvements on locking system and unlocking reliability.
Pros
- No ads and no in-app purchases, completely free to use.
- Simple and clean user interface that is easy to operate.
- Effective touch lock functionality for locking the screen during video calls or toddler use.
- Doesn't require many permissions and respects user privacy.
- Developer support is responsive and improves the app over time.
Cons
- Volume button unlock feature is unreliable or doesn't work on many devices.
- Does not disable navigation buttons (home, back, recent) or notification bar, allowing toddlers to bypass the lock.
- Lock button is small and sometimes easily pressed by children, reducing effectiveness.
- Some users experience being locked out and needing to restart the phone to regain access.
- Occasional app crashes or closing when attempting to start the lock function.

Installed, set up to use volume button to disable. Locked the screen and couldn't unlock it. Volume buttons did nothing but change the volume lol. Also, it doesn't really lock the screen. You can still press the go-back buttons and pull down the notification bar and press anything in there. So the kids still accidentally mess everything up while running around with the phone while on a video call.

Didn't work. Could still pull down settings menu and make all kinds of changes, use gesture controls (swipe from edge to go back). My little one was able to do all kinds of things while locked.
