App summary

Master different methods and solve puzzles.

* More than 100 tasks: from basics to challenges
* 11 chapters to explore
* Built-in glossary with geometric terms
* Step-by-step instructions
* Easy to use

XSection is a trainer of solid geometry problem solving. It teaches you how to perceive 2D representation of polyhedra, lines, and planes from 3D Euclidean space. All the problems can be solved without complex calculations. The app contains the required theory facts and explanations. If you forgot a definition, you can instantly find it in the app’s glossary.

XSection is a perfect way for students to practice before tests or exams and to improve your spatial imagination. The app will not allow you to create an impossible object: for example, to "intersect" skew lines (which is a typical error when constructing cross sections on paper).

The best way to learn to solve math problems is to solve them a lot.

Main topics:
- Prisms, cubes, parallelepipeds, and cuboids
- Pyramids and tetrahedrons
- Diagonals of polyhedrons
- Cross sections
- Diagonal sections
- Parallel and central projections
- Method of traces
- Method of inner projection

XSection follows Euclidea - Pythagorea - Pythagorea 60° series of our geometric games. With these apps you can become a real Geometry Guru!

Starting from the 8th chapter levels are unlocked at 4-hours interval. But you can buy an IAP that removes this restriction.

I really like this game — I completed it, and without hints, I think — but a wonderful improvement would be a way to choose a color for each line and point you construct, so you don't get confused between two that are very close to each other. It would also be nice to be able to make certain lines invisible; sometimes there are so many construction lines for things you're done with.

They got away from the unique Pathagorus based names for something a bit more cool. It improves greatly on the concept by taking it into the third dimension, but it's still a game played in 2D where the orthogonal shapes are never rotated, and the grid lines are swapped for drawing onto the polyhedra themselves. It very much has the same calm simplicity of drawing lines, and increasingly sweet victories that I loved from the first two. I've beaten it twice and I'm about to start a 3rd time.

Five stars not just because it's beautifully implemented but also because I learned substantial stuff and enjoyed it along the way! Like another reviewer, I got a little ways in and then went back to the start and the concepts (particularly using traces to extrapolate intersections, but not only that) really clicked. Genuinely fun and real learning. Later note: I continue to return and replay the game, still finding challenge and deepening (solidifying :-) my comprehension. It's the best.
