| 2024-11-24 |  | | Update to review, original below this update: The app has improved, but the next episode functions still sucks specifically when coming back after closing the app and clicking on the episode you left off I really enjoy the app, especially when I'm away from my pc, but the app really needs a time skip button while watching videos. Maybe even a better next episode button that doesn't show up in the last 10 seconds only. Apart from those little nitpicks, I haven't had any problems with the app. |

Even if it had some of the best content in the world, I'm not sure I would use this app. The UI is so counterintuitive, it is nearly impossible to use at times. Subtitles constantly overlap, episodes in series arnt even linked, there is very little that I actally like about the app. Update, I canceled my plan a while ago, but I'm still getting charged. I'm not entirely sure if this is google plays fault or hidive. Either way, dont get it! |

It doesn't save my progress, and it doesn't automatically go to the next episode in the series I'm watching. As soon as I finish watching the anime that is exclusive to Hidive, I'm going to drop it. |
| 2024-11-22 |  | | Terrible UI across all platforms (phone, Roku, chrome cast) continue watching non existent, no access to watch list, you can add shows to a watchlist where that list is unknown, IF continue watching works it's for that single episode and then you have to go back to the show find where you were (no progress is shown that you watched any episodes) audio language available isn't up to date/accurate. Hope you binge watch entire shows otherwise pen and paper to write down where you left off. |

It is hard to believe this company has been around so long, considering the app can't track history at all, lists don't work, data does not sync between devices, and they bloat their catalog by listing every season and sub/dub as separate entries. |
| 2024-11-15 |  | | I've recently subscribed to hidive, and I'm unable to access the exclusive shows, and it's been 4 days now. My bill is due Dec 11. As a receipt, I screenshot my payment and sent it to hidive they have not been any help, rather they have been sending me to talk and chat with multiple agents and all say they can not help. This is a bad look for hidive. I mean, literally, all my exclusive content is locked 🔒 and my hidive bill is paid what a joke |

When you continue an episode, you should be able to go to the next episode or have a way to go directly to the series. App does a terrible good of keeping the status of what episode you are on. If you access episodes via watch list, you have to back out to get to the next episode. I haven't come across open source interfaces this bad in years. |

Also, finding series you've started watching is nearly impossible unless you remember the name of it. If it wasn't for the selection of unique anime available on this platform, I'd cancel it today. |
| 2024-11-06 |  | | Their app is absolute garbage. It doesn't keep track of any watch history successfully. It's unorganized and looks like a small child threw it together without any future updates. I only have hidive for certain anime releases and then I delete it. Great old lineup but lacking anything that would really give crunchyroll a run for their money. Let alone the user interface is so lacking it normally makes the experience of using undesirable. Make sure you keep records of your watch list. |
| 2024-11-06 |  | | I installed HIDIVE to watch two Lupin III series and planned on unsubscribing as soon as I was finished. However, I've found it's near impossible to unsubscribe - you can't manage your subscription from the webpage, and despite them promising you can manage the subscription in the app, you simply can't. Aside from that, the app is hard to navigate and it has poor performance. If the app ran well and had better menus, they wouldn't need to cheat and hide subscription options to keep subscribers. |
