I ch anged my review because the app doesn't work any longer and the new "EDITIONS" version absolutely sucks. I would have given it zero stars if it let me.

7/10/24-Since the problems with the app got even worst, and I never heard from McClatchy, I had no choice but to remove the app from all my devices. I am now accessing the paper via its website. 6/19/24- The latest 2024 app is another big mess. It freezes immediately after opening the print edition. It is becoming more difficult to justify the cost of the subscription.

Update 7/6/24. Another new version of app and as always new bugs introduced. Can no longer share articles via sms apps. Unlike the standard Android share menu that includes all apps possible to share a link with the new miami herald app only shares with about 10 apps. Does mccclatchy even pay an actual android developer to make these apps its a basic feature that an api does for you? Or do you just outsource it like you do custom3r service to the country of Columbia?

I really want to like this app. The Miami Herald has a long and storied history. Over the more recent years, as the reliability of their home delivery deteriorated, I turned to their digital product. For $30 monthly, it sucks. On my Samsung 24 it takes forever to load and open, a lot of the time it fails to open, and I give up. Their customer service desk can offer no solutions. When it does work, and sometimes it does, it's wonderful. Congratulations...I'm giving up. Subscribed to Sun Sentinal.

This app is borderline unusable. "Article not found" minutes after the app gives me a notification. If you do get to open an article, dead links galore. Cancelling this sub, but even trying to do that is an ordeal. Get your news somewhere else, cos you can't get it here!

SPECIAL PROJECTS
App is worthless. A paid subscription is now required to read every article in this app. The subscription is egregiously overpriced compared to other newspapers. Price of the subscription is absolutely not worth it. The response that I can access select content without a subscription but there is no content on that app available without a subscription, none!

With my daily home delivery increasing in price, decreasing in size, and with fewer family members reading it, this app should be the alternative. Frustratingly no. Most stories are inaccessible. The layout is cluttered and repetitve as one scrolls. Only the ubiquitous ads seem to work properly. Sadly, when my subscription ends, my money will be better spent on a national news app and I will have to find my local news elsewhere.
