2024-07-08 | Aaron Young | I'm happy to see there's been some work on landscape mode, but it a far cry from being user-friendly. For the menu, change the ui for landscape, please! It's so tiny now. When in a quest, instead of top/bottom banners, dock them on the left/right side of the screen so they aren't tiny. Maybe make a setting so the user can choose which side to dock it on. Also, more work is still needed on the AI for monsters with higher mindpoints. Otherwise I can beat HeroQuest with only 1 hero...
2024-07-08 | James Young | I love it, I just wish you could play with more heroes instead of just 4. we play d and d 5e also, but we all would like to play hero quest together also. there are 10 of us, it would be great to split up and cover different areas. there are plenty of characters now. I just got jungles of delthrak. can't wait to play. we played this back in the 80's, I'm so glad you brought it back. P.S. if you play thru a Nintendo switch portable dock from Amazon, the video and sound work flawlessly. welcome
2024-05-05 | Jonathan Eltgroth | The app is great for solo or group play if no one wants to be Zargon. The music and ui are pretty nice. I have one major complaint, though, and that is that the RNG for monster rolls is completely unbalanced. Enemies have a nasty habit of rolling all skulls far more often (>50%) than not. It's WAY too difficult when no hero has more than 2 defense. A human can not roll that accurately against such odds when the heroes have no new bonuses or weapons. I have to cheat just to stay alive.
2024-02-03 | Darren Montalbano | Crashes almost every time I try to save. Crashes consistently when an ice gremlin steals an item and makes it off the map. Sound sporadically does not output. Party management is difficult or impossible. Would be fantastic if more effort were put in, but it's been years since release and the app still feels bare bones, broken, and unprofessional. Clearly not a priority for the developer.
2024-01-07 | Marc Roman | The perfect application for solo play!!! While another free Windows program has existed for years, this one has all the bells and whistles. The only improvements I can think of at this time are more music tracks, better enemy movement behavior, and the ability to download new content without having to uninstall everything and start from scratch. Recommended!
2023-05-12 | Michael Clemens | The app is great, yet a little clunky. Not entirely intuitive. My main disappointment is that it doesn't provide an option to change out characters from your group once you start. This wouldn't have been a problem with the original edition of the game but now that new characters are being introduced this needs to be an option.
2023-05-02 | Dark Hound | The app is pretty cumbersome to use but the narration is awesome! I would like to see a 'DM Companion" mode where you pick a quest it gives "narration points" to click on, and then audibly narrates the event selected. The "DM companion" mode could also keep the atmosphere sounds. Maybe it would also have mosnter trackers for damage. But no need digital player/monster board tracking as the physical board will still be heavily used by both hero players and dm player. I would give THAT a 5 star.
2023-04-18 | TJ Shields | I have the original HeroQuest board game and I am using this app to help me solo play the game, since my family has no interest and no friends to play with. It works really well, I had to change some of the settings but I like the way its playing. I'm halfway through the first quest and loving it. The only glitch I found is that I tried to use a Bluetooth speaker on my phone and the sound is not coming through. Other than that, Great app.
2023-02-24 | Scott Kuhr | I love the app when it is working. The HUGE problem is the it only activates maybe 2 in 10 tries. The rest of time it opens to blank text on the screen and no way to access the saved games. I can provide a screenshot if requested. Please please fix this bug. 🙃 As of 2/23/23 there has been no feedback or update to address my problem. 😔
2022-08-21 | LestatBratPrince | Some of the quests are buggy. Specifically quest 3 in kellar's keep is unbeatable because as soon as a character gets to the staircase and chooses to leave the game locks up. No buttons can be pressed and the stay or leave prompt remains on screen. Tried restarting a couple of times and it happened every time. Luckily you can skip quests in the app or this would be a huge problem. |
