The content is 5*. The interface is a weak 4* when it's working just right. The weird glitches drive it down. 1. Videos don't play in "serious" news articles, but do in movie reviews & (some) opinion pieces (weirdly enough they kill text scrolling in the opinion pieces). (BTW Vids fine in NYT app) 2. Begging for $£€ happens for a day or so every few weeks, I'm subscribed. 3. E-mailed help (about #1 above), not very helpful. I miss reading it on news360😥 RIP.

Was grand until it recently stopped working. All I get now is "cannot fetch dats try later". I uninstalled and reinstalled. Same problem. I can access the Guardian website fine. But I prefer using the now useless app. And, yes, I am logged in. - - update: it started working normally again after I submitted a bug report. I don't know if they fixed somerhing or it just fixed itself. Anyway, all good now.

Love the Guardian, not thrilled with the app. Trying to scroll up often ends up with the article scrolling right or left so while you started reading one thing, suddenly, you are in a completely different story. It is frustrating bordering on infuriating. So much so I am considering deleting the app altogether and just waiting until I am on my computer.

5 Star if not for the horrible video player and crazy swipe right and left. Hit play and scroll. The player will be in the left corner and won't return. Hit play on YouTube, and the app is stuck in a loop. Can't get back the app bounces back to YouTube. Have to kill the app anytime a video is played. If you scroll an article up or down to read it and are not perfect, the app will swipe right or left to another article. Way too swns.

Many news outlets dont put much thought into how their app looks. I always found The Guardian to be the most attractive news app visually, the use of colors, cards and live feeds is almost addictive to interact with. As petty as it might sound, I find the recent changes to this app's visual layout makes it less enticing to scroll through, something just feels blander now compared to it's previous iteration earlier this year. Nevertheless, The Guardian remains my favorite news app to go through.

I've used this app for at least 7 years. They recently changed the interface, and made it less customizable, full of advertising content, and generally worse. I lost all of my saved articles, and they increased the price. Good reporters and good news coverage, but the app isn't worth it.

This app delivers what may be the world's best source for entertainment, photojournalism, food, comedy, fashion, and hard news. A great feature is the "save," which allows you to go back and read or re-read an article or recipe. You can also choose what kind of article subject matter you want to see pop up. There is a share feature that works. The search feature seems to work as intended. It keeps getting better; I haven't noticed any glitches recently. Highly recommend!

The content is mostly good. Some of the opinion pieces are very suspect though. $10 per month is not worth it though. Time to move on after the pay wall... Ads not enough anymore? As much as you can opt out of tracking, the trackers are still there. I'm not sure how that works. Stick to the browser if you want to read news and protect yourself from the trackers through your browser.

Your news coverage is awesome, broad, comprehensive and thorough and the app refreshingly functions properly and reliably in the "free" version. I live on a fixed income and unfortunately cannot afford the "premium" version which seems to unlock many great options. I've tried many news services and The Guardian is by far the absolute best!! Thank you!!

Responsible and reliable international news that also gives a fresh insight into USA news from non-usa news network. Stories are honestly and transparently updated as new information comes to light. App isnt perfect but its FREE. And it isnt innundated with adds. Too many other news apps are crammed full of clickbait adds. Not this one. They do ask you to support them fairly often. However that is a small price to pay to get news of this quality. When things get better I will subscibe.
