App summary

Isle of Arrows is a fusion of board game and tower defense, in which you place randomly drawn tiles to build defenses on an ever-growing piece of land.

* Tile-Placement meets Tower Defense: Isle of Arrows is a unique blend of genres that adds a new strategic puzzle element to the Tower Defense formula.
* Roguelike structure: Each run is randomly generated with different tiles, enemies, rewards and events. Playing through campaigns unlocks more elements to appear in the game.
* Modes & modifiers: A variety of game modes, guilds, game modifiers, and challenges make each playthrough unique.

Gameplay
Each round, you get to place a tile on the isle for free. Spending coins allows you to skip to the next tile immediately. When you're ready, call the next enemy wave and watch your placed defenses in action.

There are 50+ tiles in Isle of Arrows:
Towers attack the invaders. Roads extend the path the enemies walk on. Flags grow the isle, giving you more space to build. Gardens reward you with coins. Taverns boost all adjacent archery towers. And so on.

Features
* 3 game Modes: Campaign, Gauntlet, Daily Defense
* 3 themed campaigns that each have their own unique set of tiles
* 70+ tiles
* 75+ bonus cards
* 10+ events that can help or hinder you

Please note that Isle of Arrows does not offer cloud save functionality for the time being.

Things that would make this a 5 star game: Stuck to 40 levels to finish is too difficult. Spent a week on "beginners" level trying to get to 40 rounds. Make an "Endless" mode where I can either keep playing after I die or endless to start. A great example is Mini-Motorways; Adding different Kingdom to conquer would also keep me engaged where I have to get though all the kingdoms where you can make fictional maps or real places. Or a game of thrones tie in.

It is not fun when factors out of players control make game unwinable. Levels are 40 rds & last over 45 minutes. On round 30 a new defense point appears but your "random playable cards" do not generate defense towers to defend the new point. There is often no way to win. I just lost 3 plays in row in which I went into rd 30 with full health & lost by rd 34 due not getting towers to defend the new points in the level even though I was spending all my gold to get extra cards. Not enjoyable.

Addictive solid tower defense. Using a system slightly similar to Slay the Spire or Hearthstone, where you're using cards as actions/plays, you're either putting down towers, paths for enemies, utilities, etcetc, though, it's biggest downfall to me is the randy random of all card draws. You're either getting almost every card you want each turn or you're left frustrated with bad draws. Rng isn't bad. it just feels as though some games are losses regardless of any potential moves you make. 4.25
