Google Maps navigation no longer gives street and highway names, only says "turn left or turn right" forcing me to use another navigation app that gives definitive information like Google Maps USED to. Also, the weather app for reasons unknown disappeared to the background, replaced by Pixel Weather on my desktop, I don't how to get Google Weather back on my desktop, being that Google provides ZERO tech support now, I don't know how to correct these issues.

The weather app/widget keeps changing my location and it's very frustrating. I have only ever entered a single location and that's the weather I'd like to see. But almost every time I open it, it's showing me weather for some other places and I have to change it back to where I want to see. I can't figure out how to fix it. Thank you for the fast response. When I type that link in it tells me there aren't many results and doesn't show me a help page. I tried to just do a search and find nothing.

The absolute epitome of love-hate relationships. Sometimes smart as heck, sometimes presumptuous and assuming. Navigating is usually spot-on and when it isn't, who's to say it's the fault of the app or something else. Auto archiving and automatic changing of things within the photo program is completely not cool. The idea of apps modeling your behaviors and then doing predictive things for you is completely ridiculous. Who do you want in charge of your phone? You or an app?

The image search function should be optional and removable. It screws up every screenshot I try to take regardless of if I am on the internet or just taking a Pic of a message. It's faulty. And when you continue to add unnecessary functions without a setting to turn them off, it makes your apps and phone products unusable. Tesla will make a phone and platform for normal people soon.

Google is constantly either lagging for me or shutting down on me completely. The random lagging/shutting down got so bad that the app was beginning to interfere with some of my other, unrelated apps, so apart from updating the app, which made no difference, I had no other choice but to put Google in deep sleep to see if doing so would make a difference, but it really hasn't. I don't know what the issue is, but something needs to be done because this is getting frustrating.

There is an annoying bug where it just ignores the system theme and goes back to white. I have to toggle the theme or force close the app to make it go back to dark mode. This started after updating to Android 15. Edit: The canned response from the dev is baffling as my description plainly states that it is ignoring the system theme. The app was set to use system theme rather than override. I have to force close it to make it behave.

They're doing too much, and things are starting to fray at the edges. They're too large with too many apps; now a confusing landscape. Everything is an interconnected web, a synechdoche of settings and menus overlapping and intertwining. E.g. - I lost Assiatnt volume through Auto about a year ago after an update. It's a very common issue online, but there are 1000 potential causes so 1000 suggested solutions. I don't know if this is even the right app to be reviewing, it's just what was open.

I've never had a problem with this app. It's always there, ready to use. It's very dependable. It does what I ask, quickly and correctly. I use it every time I use my phone, tablet and office computers. It may be the best app I have. It makes my life so much easier. I'm the of two companies: Early, Martin & Moore (Investment Bankers) and Early Entertainment (Documentary Filmmakers). We verify all that we learn with Google. It's a tremendous help!

Use any other app if you are able. It's risky to invest energy and time into any Google product. It simply may disappear or any of its functions may simply disappear. The bottom three buttons of the app change all the time. So for example the articles that I hearted were accessible via one of the buttons at the bottom of the app for years. It disappeared. The record I created of articles that I wanted to keep is gone. Google sucks!

If I ask Assistant while using Android auto a question it always responds with "sorry I didn't understand." Without AA, it works just fine. It's happening for months, at least Edit: hi Google. No, your reply doesn't help. I'm not able to click on those links from my phone. Update, Nov 2024 - still happening! It happens with ANY phone I use!
