2024-10-30 | Michelle Chang | Google sheets on desktop is one of the best applications ever created. Google sheets on mobile is as useless as physically using paper and pencil to write something down, only to take a picture of it to save on your phone. Over the years, Google has relentlessly locked me out of editing my own spreadsheets, leaving me with view only access. It doesn't matter how many times you report the problem to them, because they're not going to fix it.
2024-10-28 | Kelly R | I am constantly locked out (View Only) of my own spreadsheet. I am the "Owner" and the only one who edits the spreadsheet, but several people have view only access (via a link) to track information in near real time. It seems about 70% of the time when I try to edit the doc on my phone I can't because it's view only. I've cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, logged in using a browser, used a shortcut, used drive... Nothing works! It's absolutely infuriating and unreliable.
2024-10-24 | Meg Junkermeier | I use this app for on the go spreadsheets to access while I'm away from the computer. I just wish there could be a better mobile-style view of a spreadsheet compared to what it looks like now, where you have to zoom in a lot and the boxes are so small. Anyway, other than that it works great. You can share the sheets with friends, family, coworkers, etc - and give them editing capabilities if you want them to be able to write and modify.
2024-08-17 | Jeremy Leale | Crashes continuously on my Pixel 6 Pro. It lets me use it, but every 5 seconds when I have a sheet open "Sheets has stopped working" over and over. Took devs advice and now it works. Not even a week later and it's doing it again. I only have 2 docs, and only one is receiving active updates. My phone is refurbished and only about 2 weeks old. I see there's an update, so I hope this fixes it. Being told to have to access a full on PC with a web browser for an app is absolutely insane.
2024-07-05 | Felix Perez | Update: app launches, appears to load the spreadsheet, then states "Sheets can't display some features of this Excel file." Google send me an email to send you the file and screenshot and I'll send it to you. Thanks. Issues with App. States some features have been removed or not available. It pulls up fine then about 1-2 seconds it removes features and deems my spreadsheet bad. I get a bunch of ref#.
2024-07-01 | MachinaSoul | It is bare bones. I use it to calculate how much I can wiggle my checking funds. However, I have found no way to format columns to display numbers in financial format. At times, this results in getting numbers beyond the hundreths after the decimal when calculating tax [IE: "=sum(9.98*1.07)"]. It is not in any way contending with Excel because of that lacking functionality. Half tempted to buy a pocket PC just to have linux office apps that do replace Ecxel to that degree.
2024-07-01 | Ashley Adams | My partner and I have two different android phones (pixel 7 and a ROG 5) and on both apps when we open our shared document and move the page to see the far right columns the app completely crashes. It's unusable and pretty frustrating. Edit: thanks for your response. We have done that on both phones, but it's hard to understand how this issue can be consistent across two different android devices.
2024-06-14 | Monique S | Wow. Y'all need to stop trying to control everyone's tech experiences. I hate modern Internet, and this is a perfect example as to why. Some of us are using work-issued devices. Some of us literally cannot afford newer phones. I can no longer edit my sheets via mobile browser. Awesome. I am so close to switching everything to Microsoft or Apple. This is ridiculous & completely unnecessary.
2024-06-04 | Martin Pitstick | It's good when it works but intermittently comes up view only on my Android phone, even though I am the owner of the file. I have cleared the app's cache and I have plenty of available memory on Google One. It just stops working for a few days and then without any particular reason, will work again. I never know when it's going to switch to view only on my phone so this makes it unreliable.
2024-05-03 | Justin McBride | I hate this app with a fiery passion. Every action requires more button presses than necessary. It constantly shows a pop-up that covers a large portion of the screen prompting you to save. Instead of making the message go away, pressing save starts an unnecessarily lengthy process that wastes time and adds (1) at the end of the file name instead of most saving it like I asked. After typing something, pressing back closes the app instead minimizing the keyboard. |
