2024-11-27 | Sreekanth Narayanaswamy | Please bring the old UI back. The white balance and exposure for hdr was fine where they were since they could be easily changed while in the shot. The feedback was instantaneous and useful.. New UI is almost unusable, not to mention the hassle of going back and forth for every shot. Please change it back.
2024-11-27 | Albert Hreha | Is it just me or are the colors horribly off nowadays? Visually, every picture I take is so completely different than reality. The photos I take recently do not remotely represent what my eyes are telling my brain. Google gives us an alternate reality through AI (removing people, creating things that don't exist) yet we can't have ACTUAL useful adjustment functionality found in the Pro section like ISO, Speed, Shutter?! Hopefully this is a bug and will be returned in the next update.
2024-11-19 | Kevin | Camera app is crashing my Pixel 8 Pro for the last week. Consistently showing a black screen but when you press the shutter button it takes a photo. Also there is a huge delay between when you take a photo from the camera app and when you view it on Google photos. Bad update please fix ASAP!
2024-11-16 | Amanda Vernon | Update: now my photo won't even work. I open the app and it automatically shuts itself off. Such a shame a good camera has to be such a bad app. Had to move to 2 stars. I love this camera, don't get me wrong. It takes amazing photos, but I can NOT get my video to work at all. I switch it over from photo it freezes and shuts down.
2024-11-15 | Marie Cerda | Over sharpened, over processed selfies. I downgraded and uninstalled all of the updates and then the old version started doing it too. Pixel 6. The selfie looks fine as previewed and then when it's saved all of a sudden every pore is visible and your skin looks like it's glowing neon. With ultra HDR turned off. I have to use an aftermarket camera app to take anything remotely usable, and this has been an issue for years because there's posts about it everywhere! Never buying a pixel again.
2024-11-15 | Judá Martínez JIMU96 | No pro mode? seriously? not having the option to manual focus is killing me, also what's up with brightness, shadows and those names? need my ISO, SS and MF options, bought a Pixel phone just for it's camera and finding out there's not a real manual mode is so discouraging, next time I'll think it twice about getting one of these phones. Also, AI should be an option and not something added to all the photos, there should be a toggle to activate it or deactivate it. "New" isn't always good
2024-11-15 | Aaron Marcouiller | Older Pixel Camera is just better. Just 'upgraded' to a pixel 8 from a 7 and wow, the camera app on the 8 is wildly worse. I....just can't believe it. Bring back the photo sphere and other lost options. Stop with the default shutter delay when using the flash. I really don't care if it gives better pictures, MAKE IT AN OPTION YOU CAN TURN OFF!! I shouldn't have to wait 5-8 seconds trying to hold the phone still to take flash photos, and if anything in that photo moves it becomes a blur
2024-11-09 | Fat Guy in the Forest | I'm coming from iPhone. I've gotten some amazing pictures out of pixel 9 pro. But then there's night sight. So grainy and even if I'm perfectly still, it blurs. Now compared to iPhone 13 pro, I handheld 10 seconds night mode with Northern lights some beautiful results. Pixel 9 pro im having my doubts. I was hoping for a upgrade but there's just something not right. Hi res very slow to snap pics and then it processes. Colors are off when shooting towards the sun. App needs to be fixed for sure.
2024-11-09 | Nichole | (On a Pixel 7 Pro) The last update has broken the camera app. 87% of the time the app force closes around 2 seconds after opening. On the off chance that the app stays open, none of the function buttons appear and it freezes the screen. I have to force close the app to get my phone functioning again. I've always loved Pixel's camera app and I hope you guys get these update problem fixed soon.
2024-11-08 | Kaitlyn Abele | I often take product photos and had been using a Samsung s21 ultra where I was able to save different profiles on their pro camera app. However, the pixel will not allow you to save settings to different profiles so I have to change all the settings every time I'm taking photos. The pixel camera is amazing, don't get me wrong, but the camera app is just not great for people who are going to do more than just point and click. |
