2024-11-30 | Ann Krusec Lopez | This app is falling behind with no decent updates in the past few years. Considering the popularity of it, it seems odd how no one running this app has put any innovation behind it. There are several glitches like it taking you into desktop mode (without you promoting it) from the app, not being able to be many of the functions from the app that you can do from the website, coupled with the poor layout that make me look for an alternative.
2024-11-26 | Sarah Williams | App is not updated in ways meaningful to users. You can track books, but not with accuracy unless you are strictly in the Amazon system. And then it refuses to let audio books be listed accurately by the modern standard of HH:mm. Been well over ten years and still haven't gotten half stars. It is laggy compared to competitors, and feels like one giant Amazon add, instead of a community.
2024-11-26 | Nichole Adams | Make a SHARE and copy URL from the damn app. This nonsense w "use the website"...fix it. Super annoying. It doesn't pick up other apps books all the time either, so manual entering or moving a book happens far too often. Needs better and more features to share and link to other review sites.
2024-11-19 | Mikayla H. | This app is truly the best way to interact on Goodreads since they ruined the browser version. I use it exclusively and love almost everything about it. It's easy to find books, easy to write reviews, and use the messenger. My only complaint is that I have notifications blocked, and it asks me every single time I open the app if I want to enable them, and that's just frustrating. I would have them on if I wanted, and it's just anoying to be repeatedly asked. Maybe add a "don't ask again" button?
2024-11-13 | claire reich | The app is great. There needs to be an addition on the update status. When you go to update the books your currently reading it only asks for page number or percent number. That's great for ebooks and physical, but there's no chapter option for audio books. Having a chapter read option would also be great for those of us who read manga and manwha that comes out weekly.
2024-11-12 | Johnny McDobbsy | Works as advertised & intended on my Verizon S22U. That said, why doesn't the app have search history like every other on the planet? If I wanna search for a book that I'd already looked up, I gotta type it all out again. I mean, it's not like it's PHYSICALLY difficult or anything, but there's a reason EVERYONE has the feature. Thank you for all the hard work and (mostly) timely updates. Speaking of, 8/21/24–Thank you so much for dark mode, but now the app freezes for 5 sec every time I open it!
2024-11-11 | Christine Curran | I loved app when I was an avid reader, then life got busy. I've now gotten into audio books but my old account is gone- Facebook login is no longer supported. A friend helped me rebuild my old account by sending me my read and want to read list. I was almost done but now it's not letting me add anymore. My feed is entirely my one friend's activity- I can't figure out how to add more friends or join groups. The invite link doesn't work, explore brings me books I can't add, and groups just says 0
2024-11-08 | Amanda Cain | This app has been great for keeping me on track with what I want to read, what I'm currently reading, and what I've read. However, this app is NOT user-friendly. It is not easy to find friends, groups (for example, Reese's Book Club... or any book club for that matter), also people & authors I want to follow. This app really has SO MUCH potential, but it falls flat. I will continue to use it, but I wish I could do all the things book related with it. 😔
2024-11-08 | Julia Tudor | Just switched from iPhone to pixel and as a result can no longer look at any of my logged reading session. This feature seems to be iPhone exclusive, which is awful and makes no sense, prompting me to come rate 2 stars and write this. All functionalities of this app should be available on any device you are using IMO.
2024-11-08 | Andrew Gagne | This is a nice app that would help you track and discuss your favorite books. It is, however, not perfect because you will experience technical glitches from time to time. I couldn't enter this app for two months before I figured that I just needed to change my password. |
