2022-03-17 | T Y | It's currently broken. It'll read a handful of paragraphs and then just stop reading and start skipping paragraphs. Needs ways to go back to previous lines (fast forward and rewind), and also needs a way to continue reading into the next chapter of the book. This app hasn't gotten the updates other TTS apps have, so I'm not super hopeful.
2021-08-26 | Christine Bennett | I just paid for the pro version hoping to be able to use Polly. While I can get one of the installed books that come with the app to read aloud, it is difficult to get started. When I import one of my epub books I can't get the voices to read at all. I can only read the text. No voice works. I paid for the upgrade and I am considerably miffed big time!
2021-06-17 | Nicole DSouza | Good, but needs work. - increasing font size doesn't work - increasing margin adds extra space between paras - voices work well, but pausing is buggy and skips one or two paragraphs ahead - app doesn't remember which books were imported / reading position. Considering the price and voice quality, the app is good but needs working through for the bugs above. I can't find any other apps using Amazon Polly, apart from Evie, which is more expensive
2021-06-14 | Mina Cheyo | I think it's still in the early phase of production. The voices are very nice to listened to,, however not all actually working. Not very much I can say about the visual other than it is very simple. The reading program however often lagging,, took a long silence before reading, or stop allsoever. We also can't really set up the reading experience, such as where we want to begin read etc. Also,, sometimes it jumped back to paragraph it's already read,, only to read random lines. Thanks eitherway
2021-04-27 | Homework Storage | Terrible, as soon as I get in, it says "please accept permission to make the app perform good" word for word written like that. If that wasn't sketchy enough, it then asked to modify my system settings. I think this app was abandoned then taken over by viruses or hackers. This company is known for not following up on promises, see their e-reader issues. Stay away!!!!!
2020-10-18 | Randy Gimena | Text to speech alone, this app is amazing with the selection of voices and just how better the narrations are compared to similar apps. The problem is quality of life features are still lacking... the app is bare-bones. Devs please add a search function so I can jump into the chapter I left off not everyone will use your app and start with a fresh book. If it's there (the search function) please make it easier for user to find and use it.
2020-08-23 | B Sherman | It's a good app. The voices are really great. But their are some things that just don't work for me. For example when I go into table of contents and try to select a chapter to jump to it doesn't work. Also Everytime I close out the app it doesn't save the place where I was reading. So for example if I was on chapter 10 it would jump back to chapter 3. And since the table of contents doesn't work I have to scroll all the way to where I was. It's really annoying.
2020-08-05 | Jeri Johnson | I don't want to buy books, I have an endless supply through my library app OverDrive, I have 2 libraries connected to that! I'm an avid reader, but having trouble staying focused. Been trying to read the same 3 books for 2-3 years, so frustrating. If you could help please do! Thank you for making an app like this!😊 Wow, last updated May 2018! I'll just simplify, & uninstall. Hoping to get better results guidance from actual original ( I think?) App. Thanks
2020-07-08 | R D | Very promising app as it allows using Amazon Polly voices. The main downside is there doesn't seem to be a way to change the playback speed which is really important. Changing voices seems to be a bit buggy as well. It doesn't look like it's been updated in a while, but hopefully development continues.
2020-01-28 | A Google user | Useful app with issues. Hangs up when it's reading to you when you hit an image or a reference link. I wish when you select a voice it stays selected, maybe have a default voice choice. Other than those main issues I like it. I am still waiting on them to add the background reading function so I can turn off the screen and listen. |
