I mean...an app FOR A device designed for use where there is NO CELL COVERAGE shouldn't immediately try and log-in to your account via cell data. It seems like a simple thing to understand how foolish this is. Fortunately, the app works so poorly that I rarely try and use it. Nice that they made an app that's actually worse than the Spot X itself. Avoid this company and buy something else. | |

Deleted the app and reinstalled. Wiped the spot x and started over, still won't work as it is supposed to. Stay away. Go with a Garmin device. | |

Messages will load in the wrong order, sometimes messages to/from one contact show under as to/from another, and other times it takes a long time for messages on the device to sync to the all. The device works much better than the app and the device has its issues at times too. My experience with the Garmin device and app is much better. | |
2024-06-15 | Dick Phuk | Pathetic, an app can't be any worse! Have tried 2 different spotx devices, & 4 different phones, from Android 9 to 13, none of them work. None even see a spotx device in app. I've tried hard resets, factory resets, power up & down on both phone & device, update phone firmware, device firmware, even install old APK versions! These people want you to trust your life in their hands? It's shocking. Buy something else. if you go into your BT menu you can see they are transmitting. What a garbage app. | |
2024-02-17 | Rick Greenland | I really like the Spot X device, it works as it should but after an hour of tech support I still can't log into the app. continually says user name or password incorrect. tech reset password but no help, I can log into my spot x account but not the spot x app. they started a trouble ticket and suppose to contact me back. Ill update if I hear from them. Update: when trying to log into app I was on wifi. I turned off wifi, switched to cellular data and was able to log in. all is good now. | |

The messages show out of order, messages I send appear like they were sent by the other person, adding contacts is broken, deleting messages does nothing... honestly, nothing works properly with this app. I wish I went with a Garmin instead of this absolute junk hardware and junk app! | |
2023-07-05 | G BS | You don't need access to ALL the contacts in my phone, that's BS. We have contacts in the spotX, this app won't work unless you give it full access to everyone on your phone too. Also, is loads on you phone to use data on your phone even when not in use. Why use my phones service for free, I'm paying you for your service. | |

Connecting to the Spot X fails sometimes, but switching the unit off and back on and restarting the app has always fixed it on my Pixel 6. An Internet connection is not necessary. But this app would be far more useful if it could select message contacts and add them to the device, and perform software updates via Bluetooth—not everyone has a Windows or Mac machine. | |

App is trash, I am willing to provide additional data to help develops the app..... but there is no help or feedback option in the app. Spot is a dying company and doesn't care to push resources to something that they know if failing. Just like their gold star network is starting to age and fail, so are their devices | |
2022-09-11 | Goaty McGoatface | Almost immediately uninstalled this app because of the massive SOS button. I don't need to accidentally call the calvary. No information as to what that button does, whether it takes me to another screen whether just pressing it once activates it, whether you have to press and hold it for 10 seconds... I don't need that type of risk. On top of that the app adds absolutely no extra features or functionality and is totally pointless. |
