2024-07-30 | don portis | I tried this app for a few days, but decided to cancel (before the deadline). This was two months ago. I contacted them about being charged. I stated clearly that I cancelled before the deadline. I didn't get a reply until contacting them a second time. I received a lot of information on how to take pictures, est. I contacted American Express. They said contact the app people directly. Now I'm told to contact Google Play who is in charge of the app. I've been charged twice now. Refund now!
2023-03-23 | DiscorderlyConduct | After a year, it has yet to ever correctly identify a plant for me. So I updated the software and gave it one more try. This time it kept crashing while trying to start a force product survey. Good intentions but very poor execution of that was a product satisfaction pole. When I figured out how to bypass the crashing survey, it failed to identify a plant once again. Uninstalled. Too bad, I was hoping for a plant version of the Merlin app for birders.
2022-10-25 | Kulalani Couple | Very dissapointed. So many ads and buying options on the screen that very little plant ID info is visible. More a plant shopping app. Wasnt able to find a way to create a personal library of plants searched for reference, etc. Very limited pictures of plant to use as comparison or to see it in other stages. App has been useless to me. I work at a public garden and am constantly ask to identify plants. Maybe i'm using it wrong. But then it should be more intuitive. Switched back to Picture This.
2021-09-12 | Kristen | Does not give any indication in app store listing that it costs money. Does not indicate that in order to use it you have to create a login just to try it for 3 days or a week. The listing says free with some ads. It should say free trial or a starting price . The price is not the problem, it's the false expectation. When you install a ''free'' app you expect it to work with ads. Please be more up front with how your app works
2021-08-16 | Kelly Burks | You get 3 snaps per day with the free version, but you can add more by watching an add. No problem at all with that. After 3-4 days it would stall out during the identifying process or give me some off the wall ID. I would use the exact same picture and get 3 different ID's. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, which did not help. I don't recommend it for that reason.
2021-06-08 | Rachelle N | It's been a couple of years since I have used Plantsnap. I started using the app again. Not very happy with the experience lately. The plants I have taken pictures of have not identified correctly. I used to be able to save the photo for future reference on this app, now not at all. I've even considered deleting this app and searching for another plant app. I'm hoping Plantsnap can fix/tweek some issues on the app. I really liked it before and really don't want to change.
2021-02-28 | G. S (Katie) | It has trouble identifying even the most common house plants correctly. I scanned each plant more than 3 times.... every scan produced a different result and not once was it even correct. I decided to test a few plants that still had tags from the store so I knew exactly what they should be... I watched all the tutorials on "how to take the photo" still wildly different results every time you scan. Waste of time app!
2020-08-16 | KPBJ-94 | I like the concept and desperately need this app, however, this app is not very accurate. It doesn't tell you a definitive answer. It lists a few possible plants it could be and you have to look at them all, comparing photos and make your own decision. Sometimes the choices it brings up are way. I need the app to be smarter than me. I also need it to recognize trees and if something is a weed or not.
2020-07-13 | Susan Burns | It's a great idea for an app. I'm not convinced that it identifies things correctly, though. Also there is some kind of bug in the app that prevents my phone from sleeping and keeps the app open and running. Pulled my phone out of my pocket a couple hours after snapping a photo of a plant, and the app was still running, my battery almost dead, and my phone extremely hot.
2020-07-12 | Carlos Negron | Hit or miss After several months, it's really hit or miss with identification ~50% but I'm not counting. I've tested unknown and known with many snaps. Many time helpful most times not. Not 100% confident on the results returned. I spend a lot of time comparing and reading and giving up. But when it does it hit (and it does) the info is spot on and saving the snap with info is nice. I don't care for the social part get the id of plants right first. I like the map of other "snaps". |
