2024-07-13 | Dave Banham | Edit 13 July 2024: I found this app had disappeared from my phone and now the Play Store states that it's incompatible with it, presumably since it updated to Android 14. That's real shame, as I liked it a lot! Good and useful app, but needs updating for Android 11 as it was excluded from my phone's backup and when manually reinstalled I received a warning that it was built for an old version of the OS.
2023-09-22 | Gabe Coones | Overall the app is just as quick and useful as it is on the web. Only recently I have noticed the app isn't displaying any info for the phases or percentage of the moon for most locations. I've cleared all app data and cache but still no luck. The app could definitely use a tune up!
2023-03-24 | Simon Harding | Temperamental and unstable. Very disappointed. Used it for a few years, then... the app suddenly decided to ignore my set home location and just defaults to Exeter, regardless of any of my selected locations. This clearly renders the app useless. The developers have not updated the app to work with more recent Android devices, so steer clear of this app and find another one.
2023-01-14 | Andrew Humphrys | Takes some getting use to the format. Some of the screen elements float until the screen is dragged into position. Search location, tap to confirm, opens country, tap and insert town or location in the spaces before the Country and commas. Save as one of your locations for future use. To delete location tap and hold, delete when indicated on screen. Accuracy of weather in the main is reliable.
2023-01-08 | Peter Dow | I think this is a very useful tool and I use it all the time. As a person involved in the hobby of astrophotography, it has all of the information I need at a glance without cartoony pictures and fancy layouts. It lays information out in an organized fashion. I have used the Clear Outside website many times before and the app has continuity with that so it reads the same and I can adjust the data displayed in the same way, which is great.
2022-10-20 | Peter Wilhelm | I still love this app and find it very useful but have to knock off a star because it hasn't been updated in many years and my new Android 13 Pixel 7 is throwing warnings that it may not be compatible anymore. It looks to be working so far but I'm hopeful the developer can issue an update to get on the current APIs again.
2022-08-02 | János Kristóf Nagy | Highly unreliable. More and more often it is completely off concerning the clouds. Currently it shows to my location total clouds is 6, i went outside and saw a total of 2 stars. I decided to give this two stars to this app as a rating, and it was a long time coming. You can not plane your nights based on this app unfortunately.
2021-12-22 | Nick | Trying to set any locations on UK is a nightmare! It just defaults to ,, United Kingdom. I know that, I want to set a specific location! Maybe allow searching on a map, dropping a pin etc. Makes it next to useless to plan Photography Trips, I don't need the HQ in Exeter, or where I am (I have eyes, I can see fog) I need to be able to accurately search an area where I want to go. Disappointed.
2021-02-14 | Ben Raynor | This app desperately needs attention. The predictions are no longer accurate in any regard. Ignore reviews that complain about changing home location or deleting old locations. You can add a new home location by ticking a box in the new location tab. You can delete old locations by long pressing on the location in the list and selecting delete. This app used to great for me as a photographer, but due to the lack of reliability of predictions, I might need to retire it.
2020-05-06 | Todd Makris | This app used to be my favorite, but now all I get is network error messages when I try to look up a new location making it virtually unusable. I also keep getting the message that this was developed for a earlier version of android a d to look for update which there is no update. I really need a program like this to decide where to go for night photography, and if this cant be rectified, then I'll have to look for some other program. |
