| 2024-11-22 |  | | The worst messaging app to ever exist. Images not loading, links not working, messages not going through, search feature in conversations is hit is miss. You know what messaging apps don't have problems? Literally every other app. Line, Whatsapp, Android and iOS messenger, Telegram, Discord, etc. they all work flawlessly. This app... absolute pos. I've been using this app since it was first created on dozens of phones and browsers, and it has always been bad, but it keeps getting worse. |
| 2024-11-21 |  | | The end-to-end encryption thing is not working in the slightest. Every time I try to click on the "reset pin", it makes me send a one-time code to one of my other devices. However, the code does not even go through to another device. The help section does not even work, no matter how many methods I tried. Messenger used to be an efficient app, but of course, the developers had to go and incorporate AI and end-to-end encryption. Fix this. If I could, I'd rate the app 0/10 stars. 👎 |
| 2024-11-17 |  | | It would get five stars if not for the fact that sometimes sending videos/pictures linked directly from Facebook results in it taking the person to either a different video/picture or just their timeline in general. Otherwise meets all the other requirements of a decent messenger app. Talking, texting, audio messages and the like. Oddly broken links aside it's pretty alright. |

Now, I only get messages part of the time the other part of the time, it says "waiting for the message" and it's from the same person at the same place, seconds apart. I've always liked messenger, but if this keeps up, I'm switching. I can't afford miss get messages from my family. |

But as of the past 6 months it's been nothing but a buggy mess, the "chat bubble" feature was what really sold me on it originally but hasn't been functioning properly at all. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling at which time it would function properly only for it to shortly stop working again. I've tried messaging the help center to resolve this issue, only to go ignored. |

App disconnect whenever it wants too even when I have my data or wifi on. lots of bugs that needs to be fixed. Trying to look back at messages just freezes or give you a black screen. kinda useless compare to snapchat. |

However, it doesn't matter if I'm doing a video/audio call the sound is "grainy" compared to talking to them using my cell phone for audio/video calls. I've tried using my FB messenger app (on my phone )with headphones (different brands/styles tried), in private mode, or speakerphone; even if I use wifi or my data it doesn't help the sound quality at all. |

Links dont open, nor do they show the link so I can't copy/paste. 10/9/24, still having lag issues. 9/9ish/2024: Last few weeks I've been having issues sending/receiving messages without lag. it gives me a loading icon & black screen frequently before displaying messages in chat. I get notifications then can't see the previewed message in chat. Error reports time out before they're able to be sent to Facebook. can't have real-time conversation. |

When you try to watch a video, it freezes up the entire chat and then you have to close out of the app and open it again. By far the most annoying messenger app. How does a Facebook tech billionaire not have a team capable of working out the bugs that have been plaguing this app for literally years?? |
| 2024-11-11 |  | | Come a long way, since 2011, but... BUGS! Ex... The 'tools pop up' (right click when composing), doesn't appear where I am in the message. Happened many times. But, I scrolled up to the top of one, to read it from the start, and that's where the pop up was! Also, when editing, using 'Back' to delete, sometimes makes the text start a new paragraph, mid-sentence. The only way to fix it is to overwrite the entire message. (If you're OCD, this will bug you!) They need to add more editing options. |
