2024-12-15 | robert thompson | This game is well developed. My only beef and the reason i give it 4 stars is that every time they fix an issue it wipes out my saved settings. I have select a new avatar and rename it. Re-select all the game settings. This happens quite often. The just happened today because the online environment was temporarily unavailable. This is highly annoying!!!!!
2024-11-14 | Alexis Duclos | I use this app because I like Catan but I really question why I bother. Robbed like absolute mad once I have slight lead - counted 9 Knight cards played, plus magically a lot of 7s, in just four rounds last game, all only targeted at me - and never end up winning, surprise! What's the point of losing all resources, passing each turn, waiting for the AIs to magically win? This sucks.
2024-10-26 | War Pig | Rigged dice roll and AI. Rubberbanding pretty hard. If you're ever in a slightest lead in the game, the AI will make sure to knight card, block and steal your resources every round. Pretty unbearable to play single player, sadly the multiplayer player base is miniscule and it takes ages to start a multiplayer game. The server and the app is unstable and crashes frequently mid-game. Need a lot of work put in
2024-06-03 | Damon Krull | Worst buy I ever made. Online the other players will take forever to go, longer then it should ever take. Or they're disconnect and reconnect and the entire turn starts over, I got tired of it so I went to solo so it would be fast paced, and I literally just spent 6-8 turns without anything to be able to do because the numbers never rolled, every few rounds they will give you one resource to make up for it. But the worst part about it, is it'll be the "hot" numbers that don't get hit. Trash game
2024-06-03 | Brandon | The game needs some work. I've seen 3 game-breaking flaws: 1) Dice rolling is not random. Every match has the perfect bell curve of statistical probability. While you may get four 11s in a row, you then won't get 11s the rest of the game. 2) The NPC players specifically target the player even when there are competitors with more points. 3) The NPC players have perfect memory of past rolls and what's in each player's hand. If you're able to buy X but need Y, nobody will trade.
2024-05-31 | Bryan Cowan | The game is ok. It'll pass the time. I play solo and on the "moderate" setting. The game seems to regulate the difficulty level, not by making the players better, but by rigging the dice rolls. The higher your difficulty level, the more 7s are rolled against you and the more rolls come up with numbers you don't have. Nothing about skill. All about making realistic dice rolls unlikely. Frustrating.
2024-04-03 | Glen Nesse | Violates game rules, in a number of ways. The game for some reason requires me to build before rolling, which is backwards in the standard game. You roll, then you build. That's the risk of 7+ cards. Trading is awkward and seemingly pointless with the AI. In all fairness, I only played this version of the game for about an hour. But, I've played the real game for many years. This is not a good adaptation of the board game. If I could get my $5 bucks back, I would. I'll write it off as theft.
2024-01-11 | Allen Stenhaus | Buggy, terrible AI. One of the better versions of Catan I have played, which doesn't say much. However, The Knights expansion is unplayable due to bugs. The AI is beyond frustrating. They only target whoever has the most VPs with the robber, so the player can go half the game without being able to do anything. Getting hit with the robber up to 7x in a turn is awful. The AI needs improvement. It shouldn't count cards or know what will get rolled next, yet somehow it always does. Don't bother.
2022-11-29 | Bijay Shrestha | The graphics and mechanics of the game is nice (very few bugs) but the game itself is very frustrating if you play with the AI. The AI cheats horribly. The dice outcomes is always in the favor of the bots. For an example, I had a case, where the AI had put the robber in my tile at 11. As soon as that happened, dice rolled to 11 three times in a row (which is statistically so unlikely). Before that I rarely got 11. At first I thought it was just an one off game, but it happens almost every game.
2022-09-21 | Stephen Phillips | It's a great game, but the app is horrible. It crashes regularly. It doesnt save settings either, so if you close the app and come back to it later (not immediately reopening after it crashes) you have to reset all your settings. I have to turn off sounds, retype my name, and reset my player preferences. It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying to have to deal with every time I open the app. |
