2024-12-17 | Paul Hedges | I'm coming back to download this app again after a year, I had forgot it uninstalled itself because it is just so useless. The mug is great and can heat itself with old settings and let me change it the first time I used the app but I used to have to reconnect the mug every day and my settings wouldn't ever persist then it wouldn't heat so I just decided to stop using the app. Hopefully this time they have fixed some of the bugs and if so I'll adjust my rating but the app is almost useless.
2024-12-16 | Sergey Grigorian | The previous version was perfectly good, but the 11/24 is terrible. It hardly ever pairs with the mug, and when it does, it then can't ever connect. Without the app it's impossible to change temperature settings and makes the mugs almost worthless. Fix it ASAP or at least roll back to previous version.
2024-12-10 | John Ingle | Never stays connected. Have to reinstall app a couple times a week, at least every day sees me deleting the cup and adding it again. When it works it's great, but this is nothing more than a very expensive novelty and not worth the extremely frustrating hassle. But hey, all their recipes are available in the app if that's what you want out of an app.
2024-12-10 | David Allen | App started crashing and would not open. Update was present in Play store. Installed update. Now app always asks for notification permissions and displays update is available at every launch. Next upgrade, app is even worse. Although the app opens now, I can no longer connect to the mug, or it takes between 19 and 26 tries. Even after resetting the mug multiple times, the functionality is only there for the first time following the re-sync.
2024-12-09 | Avnish Kumar | It's actually insane that it's been weeks (months?) since the app was updated and it's so broken! It logs me out everyday, multiple times. The login link sent to me email typically times out multiple times. And after all that if I can log in and press the presets button it takes >15 seconds to actually show me the presets. How can I help you fix this? I ask this in all seriousness. (12/09): it's happening again. I have to remove and pair the mug again to use every day. This is not sustainable.
2024-12-09 | Victor Lee | The app has to be re-paired every time the connection is lost. It's annoying, the only saving grace is that the last heat setting is saved into the cup and the default heat setting is the temp I like for coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The app is only really useful for initially setting up the temp.
2024-12-08 | Ben Schrader | This new update (11/2024) is reliable in that it can't hold a connection. "Connection improvements" is listed as part of the update, and all it did was make it worse. I need to redo all the steps to reset, then it works, then I close the app and it won't connect again. Is it that hard to make a (very) basic app that can handle a Bluetooth connection these days? Hey Ember, try AI or something.
2024-12-08 | El Cucuy | Since the last update, my ember is useless now. If it's not on the charger it won't keep the drinks hot and won't connect to the app. It looks like it's on at all times (white light flashing) but it's not. It used to have a hard time connecting to the app off the charger (before the latest update )but it would keep drinks at the set temperature, I was ok with that. Please fix. Samsung Galaxy s23 ultra. Update 12/8/24: Does not connect at all now. Does not heat drinks no matter what.
2024-12-08 | Alok Singhal | The app should have one job: connect to Ember devices reliably and let me change settings etc. Instead, we get "recipes", "blog posts" and other junk while the actual functionality mostly doesn't work. It forgets my devices and settings. It makes me "log in" (for what?), and displays junk on the home screen.
2024-12-04 | Jeff Allen | Amazing how a device that relies on an app can have an app that is so terrible. App recognizes mug for a few days then, refuses to connect. I generally need to do a full hardware reset to establish connection which will eventually break again. It seems you need to re-sign into their system every time they update the app, and I have only been able to get a gmail address to work others give error. Was going to gift a few but not willing to put friends and family through all the frustration. |
