2024-10-24 | Jokellum L | The only way to control the 8sleep pod is through the app. You need a subscription to schedule temperature. App freezes pretty often and locks me out. As I'm writing this review, I'm trying to lower the tempurature of my mattress, but the app isn't starting. The entire reason for buying it was to have a cooler bed, but ironically right now the mattress is actively trying to warm it, and I can't make it stop.
2024-10-20 | Michael Collins | Have had many issues with the app, like snooze not working and having to manually open the app to kill the alarm, or the app locking up when I try to update alarm time. The latest issue is that it doesn't recognise my updated payment details. My credit card expired so I put in the new one and set it as my primary card. However, the app doesn't appear to recognise it and there doesn't appear to be anywhere online that I can update it. Bad enough there's a sub but now I can't even pay for it.
2024-09-30 | George Huss | Unfortunately, after a year trial they no longer let you setup an automatic schedule with the app. Autopilot never seemed to have much value for me so I elected to not renew. However, I would like my bed to start cooler and then closer to wakeup time progressively get warmer. Much like how a wakeup light alarm works by increasing its brightness to help you wakeup naturally. After the trial, all you can do is set a static temp and turn it on and off. You can't create your own schedule.
2024-09-06 | Daniel H | To use the features of this app, other than the most rudimentary, you'll have to subscribe. It's an incredibly expensive subscription and it's pretty much blackmail, as you already bought their very expensive mattress and pod, so you'll probably want more than the absolute basic in the app. Truly appalling money grab. This app and all it's features should be free forever for the purchasers of their pod. Even if you resell it! To Eight Sleep: remove the subscription service now!!!
2024-09-05 | Lisa Littleton | The Aug 31 update changed app again and not for the better. The Tags section completely disappeared. It used to send me information based on the tags and sleep score, now there isn't that data in there to even look at trends. I used to love how informative and predictive the app was. Now it's lame, and really doesn't give my any insightful data at all.
2024-08-29 | Terry Jackson | App is a little difficult to operate at times. But my biggest issue is that my pod and pillows arrived at the beginning of the month of August. Mid month the mattress protector arrives. Now it's the end of the month and have not received my sheets. I've contacted customer service, and all I get is I'm talking to management. At this point I I need some compensation like a free year of autopilot service when it works. It seem like all they want is sales without the service.
2024-08-23 | Kevin T | App is very difficult to navigate and find the settings. Temperature control is wonky and slow. They hide the feature toggle for autopilot, that you WILL inevitably want to disable. And whatever is done makes no difference anyways. The product quality is such that it's not if yours will leak but when... And it does not ever keep the right temperature. Thermal testing is what they call it... Means absolutely nothing. It's their term for "not their problem". Regardless this app is rudimentary.
2024-08-03 | JT Martinez | Update 3/2/24 The app is working much better. Thank you and keep up the good work! As others have said, the app is unusable on Android. The Pod and iOS apps work great. When the new UI first rolled out, there was zero lag and it was very usable. Not sure what happened since, but it's been a terrible experience for quite a while now. Phone: Google Pixel 7 OS: Android 14
2024-07-28 | collyn rankin | Pod lost Internet connection during setup (it has weak connection compared to all of my other devices). This caused the app to just load a black screen. Killing the app and restarting the phone didn't work. Got everything working after I ran the setup with a different device and reinstalled the app on the original device.
2024-07-13 | Stefan Schoch | The app has gone downhill since the beginning of forcing people to sign up for a subscription. The AI is useless, more of a sleep disruptor than improver. The company should have better focused on the core product instead of charging for a service that is actually a disservice. Update: I unsubscribed, the mattress becomes basically close to unusable, they don't even allow you to switch on/off the mattress with a timer unless you pay $180 per year - modern blackmailing - avoid this company!!! |
