2024-11-24 | Brian Major | The games used to be amazing. At the beginning it's was tough but once you mastered a few characters, resources aren't so tight. However, challenges that rewarded you now call for an episode pass to unlock. It's $20. There is also a $20 Conquest pass. They both work like battle passes. But if you aren't paying you WILL fall behind. I'm done with the game as free progress is very tedious and yields very little. The game releases characters faster than you can collect without dumping money.
2024-11-23 | Connor Thompson | From 2015 to 2024, this game had it's issues but it was fun. Until November 20th, 2024, Capital Games introduced the episode track, which is just a battle pass. The game mode, conquest, had a battle pass, and that was okay because it was optional and not needed for the game. Now, with the episode track, the whole game revolves around it. The SWGOH I know is gone and no different than all the other games since 2017 because god forbid there's a good online game with no battle pass. Disappointing
2024-11-23 | Armani Authorlee | Have been playing this game since Thanksgiving 2015 and I still play ever single day but the pay to win model is ridiculous at this point. Most recent update makes it to where you must by the newest unit in full to full complete a key aspect of the game for progression. The bundles are crazy over priced. When something says it is $100, it's actually $100. And in order to complete something's on a monthly schedule you're expected to have to spend upwards of 50 to 100.
2024-11-23 | Casey James | What is up with the new giant quest progress pop ups? I do any little thing and now a pop up shows up blocking my view of the game. Horrible change to the game. The 600 energy guest is also crazy. Who in this game is able to spend energy with no remained afterwards in order to get this finished? It would force players to have to login twice with some time in the middle.
2024-11-22 | J | The new system is a shameless advert to buy the conquest pass. Leaves someone not willing to sell their liver to only be able to finish 2/4. New achievement system is going to lock you out of completed challenges if you dont pay $ for a new character, which you will need more gear for. Capital Games could redesign the process if the community agrees it's bad enough for a coordinated effort. Biggest source of income SW game in history, but the execs only want more
2024-11-22 | Justin Durkee | Game has become unbearable to play. It's been a slow trickle of content over the last few years and all the "new" modes are long, over-tuned time sinks. Everything is designed to try to get you to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars, but there is no reward or reason to do so. Edit: latest update changed the UI for daily activities and added a new paywall for weekly challenges. Zero attempt to hide their greed at least.
2024-11-21 | Josh | New update added an unnecessary battlepass that purposefully obfusicates the rewards and requires more time to achieve the same rewards when time required in game was already one of the biggest complaints. As someone who has spent years playing this game it's in the worst state it's ever been and I would NOT recommend anyone to start playing at this point.
2024-11-21 | Thomas Troop | I love this game. I argued for years that Free to Play was a legitimate option, but that is becoming increasingly untrue. The latest update took many places I was getting a lot of resources and locked them behind a paywall. I hope I can keep playing, and I hope I can eventually revise this review, but I'm having to actively consider giving up this game after investing litteral years into playing it.
2024-11-21 | Anthony Wilson | Recent changes have taken the game in a bad direction. Actual gameplay is now gated by paid barriers **not rewards** gameplay. Its not "pay to win" its "pay to play." they also removed reward access from a game mode thats been here for years that many players worked to achieve by building their rosters for the content. Download at your own risk.
2024-11-21 | Herb Smith | Move along, nothing to see here.... I've played since the start and game activities are more of a chore than fun competition and challenge over the past year. Whether you're free to play or pay to play, the enjoyment aspect of this game is dead. New UI update spams you with popups and the rewards are disconnected from actual feats. It's hard to imagine companies (CG, EA, Disney) rolling out something as broken and toxic as this, but they did. Read relevant Reddit page before installing. |
