2024-11-30 | Cat Lady | Fantastic browser! Gives me just the peace of mind that I need to help reduce my online vulnerability yet still research information and access accounts. Installation could not have been more easy and intuitive. I've even set two senior citizens up with it (browser and search engine) who are almost "anti-tech" and they love it, too. Thank you, DuckDuckGo!
2024-11-29 | The Prophet Obblonge | The app tracker blocking has been interesting. Hundreds of attempts from five of the apps on my phone daily. Since installing the browser and enabling, my phone has noticeably run better with less stalls. I installed the browser to compare the results from searches between Duck, Bing, and Google. The difference is huge. As a writer and recording artist this is very useful information. Being discoverable and recognized is an important aspect of my profession.
2024-11-27 | Mason Deterding | I love it, but my issue is why are they treating this like it's a browser? I don't like that. The app should be focused on being a good robust search engine before all of the sudden becoming a browser that takes over. Keep it focused on one thing at a time. Also please use something other than apples maps. Makes no sense on Android and hurts open source competitors.
2024-11-27 | Cynthia Cunningham | Have used this on my phones and tablets. BUT installed it on my new phone and it won't go past the stupid chrome/ddgo comparison on the second page of opening the app. Tried again reinstall. Same stupidity. -- Found the issue installing on a tablet. There's instructions on the bottom of the page but on a smaller device you can't see them because the page won't scroll up. WTG Just brilliant.
2024-11-26 | NoneYa Bizness | Just wondering if we could add a search bar option to add to home screen to replace the standard Google one, just start typing to search instead of opening the app, especially if you have the VPN option set to always on. Edit: dunno if they added this with update or not, but now provides widget options with various sizes. Like 4x2, 5x2, 4x1, etc. found one with search bar, and also one with favorites in addition to search bar. Thanks Duckduckgo!
2024-11-25 | Meleah Outreach | I was locked out of this app and I tried reaching out to you for months for help and got absolutely no response! I had important things saved on this app that I didn't want deleted. I uninstalled and reinstalled immediately and ALL of my saved data is completely gone! Is there a way to recover it??? This used to be my most favorite app and search engine! 😰😡
2024-11-22 | Rowan Hawthorne | Currently my go-to browser for private browsing, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. The one suggestion I do have, however, is a small one. I was using Firefox for a long time before making the switch, and one thing I do miss is the ability to switch between tabs just by swiping left or right on the address bar. Tiny little complaint, but a great browser otherwise.
2024-11-20 | Capn | For it's incredible security, I will never go back. There were a few UI issues that took getting used to, but I quickly learned. It will still be my highest recommendation. The browser still remembers your tabs from last time, but you can nuke them at any time, or save a certain website from being part of that history wipe. It's a good system, and I doubt there's anything more secure. And security is going to be the most important thing about operating online forevermore.
2024-11-19 | Alice Lascaux | I really like having The Duck . They've incorporated many significant improvements over the years. Until recently I didn't know sites were sending trackers with their emails (go ahead & snicker I can take it). The real time tracker blocking from The Duck shows me the sheer amount of trackers bombarding me from my apps. And it is astounding. Most are from my banking app! It's a feeling of relief knowing I have The Duck's protection.
2024-11-18 | Robert L. Foster Jr. | The browser works as expected, no issue there...aside from the 'clippy' duck guided tour that can't be canceled whenever you uninstall and or reinstall the application. In the latest version at least, there's now a stupid clippy duck quacking around telling me to type things click things and eli5 like a real bro. It was taking up screen space limiting my results generally just anoint me to the extent that I intentionally came here to leave a negative review which happens never |
